Aloha and welcome to a ground-floor private studio located in Kailua Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii. On-site parking<br /><br /><b>The space</b><br />Please note: Our next-door neighbors will be doing pool construction over the next 4 weeks. There may be additional noise during the daytime hours of approximately 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. We’ve priced our home competitively and appreciate your understanding as this temporary neighborhood project is completed.<br /><br />No AC but plenty of fans <br /><br />Your private ground floor studio has a private entrance and is attached to a shared larger family home dwelling located on a quarter acre of land in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood with a mix of local residents and vacation rental homes. This is a converted Garage. Walking distance to the popular beach Magic Sands is just one of the many perks to this location. Enjoy a nice dinner and drinks nearby at Magic's Beach Grill. And just a short drive down Ali'i Drive has one of the best snorkeling spots on the island at Kahalu'u Beach Park. Kailua Kona offers a perfect location central to shopping, restaurants, beaches, and water adventures. If you're really up for an adventure you can head north to Kohala, south to Green Sands Beach, or drive across 'Saddle Road' to the eastern part of the island to experience the beauty of the 'wet' side in the town of Hilo. <br /><br />I'm on property to answer questions and accommodate requests whenever possible. There is also a hose near your private entry door to rinse off any sand when returning from a beach trip. We have a drying rack located just outside your door to hang any wet towels or swimwear. The kitchen has a full-size refrigerator, cooking wear, utensils, hot-plate, microwave, an air fryer, and many more items for your convenience. There is also a Coffee pot with a complimentary starter set of coffee. I want to describe to you the multifamily home so you have an idea of the layout: there are two separate private vacation rentals located on the first floor and a private three-bedroom home on the second floor (the two different vacation rentals located on the first floor are across from each other on separate sides of one of the driveways). I live upstairs with my husband, two middle-aged kids, a very friendly dog and cat. We are typically up early during the weekdays for work and school and do our best to make as little noise as possible. You may hear the occasional footsteps or water pipes from time to time but in general everyone in the house lives with aloha and is respectful of everyone on the property.<br /><br /><b>Guest access</b><br />The garbage containers are also located in the back area to dispose of your trash. There are three trash bins, feel free to use any of them. We also have recycling bins located under the stairway for plastic, aluminum, and glass. Parking is off street parking between the two driveways. The neighborhood has plenty of full grown mature trees, beautiful flowers, and an abundance of beautiful birds. There is a friendly dog and cat on property that loves attention if you happen to see them :)<br /><br /><b>Other things to note</b><br />The property you are staying on is slightly larger than a 1/4 acre. It consists of your studio that is a converted garage, plus an additional private 1-bedroom vacation rental on the ground floor and a 3-bedroom private home located on the second floor. Most of the windows are louvered shutters to allow the cool Hawaiian air flow throughout the living spaces. There is no air conditioning but plenty of fans are provided (the hottest months are June through September). Please note that the standup shower is small, measuring 32"x32". <br />We are 11 miles from the airport about 25 minutes.<br />We also want to let you know that we don’t have traditional cable TV, but we do provide a smart TV where you can log into your favorite streaming apps like Netflix, Hulu, or others.
