Tropical Hideaway is a charming Hawaii-style downstairs studio apartment in a lush garden setting, with ocean views, a salt swimming pool with waterfall, & private hot tub--just three minutes away from fabulous snorkeling, kayaking & diving experiences. No kids under 10, renters must be 25 or older.<br /><br /><b>The space</b><br />The Studio has an ocean view (we are 2.5 miles above the shoreline) as well as lovely garden views. It features a covered outdoor patio with private hot tub, dining area, and gas fired BBQ. There is a queen bed, double futon couch with memory foam topper, fully equipped kitchenette (refrigerator, toaster oven, induction cooktop, microwave, 1 burner hot plate, steamer and rice cooker, coffee maker, coffee grinder, blender, utensils, dishes, etc.) with filtered drinking water, plus an indoor dining area, Smart TV, high speed wireless internet, and speaker with adapter for mobile devices. Cell service is available. A half bath and dressing area are inside, and a private outdoor shower (hot and cold water) is adjacent to the hot tub. There is also a washer and dryer near the Studio.<br /><br />There is a private yard with gardens, and guests share access to the remaining gardens and pool area with the permanent residents. The pool is a chemical-free salt pool. <br /><br />The Studio is screened in the Hawaiian style (no glass), so as to be open to the tropical outdoor setting, pleasant breezes and nature's wonders. We also supply beach chairs, boogie boards, coolers, snorkel gear, beach towels, noodles and straw mats.<br /><br /><b>Guest access</b><br />This wonderful location is three minutes from the best snorkeling on the island, with wild dolphins and turtles as well. It is in a lush, tropical area, filled with fruit trees and gardens--private and rural, yet within easy driving distance of a variety of cultural sites and natural wonders. There are several quality restaurants, organic produce stands, and a grocery store nearby. There are also a variety of convenience stores within a short driving distance, and you are only 30 minutes away from the heart of Kailua-Kona. Volcano National Park is a 1.5 hour drive.<br /><br /><b>Other things to note</b><br />During rainy times there are coqui frogs. We manage them so that they are usually at a distance, but if has just rained, they will be louder. Coquis are common around most of the island. There are also mosquitoes, especially in the summer during our rainy season.
