Tucked away in the beautiful forest of Volcano Village is “Noho’olu” – residence of comfort, grace & tranquility. This long time Kama’aina (local) family residence sits on 1.45 acres of rolling lawn with beautiful trees, foliage of the forest & singing birds native to the volcano area.<br /><br />The 2 bed/1.5 bath house sleeps up to six people. Full kitchen with all the essentials opens up to dining room and backyard patio.<br /><br /><b>The space</b><br />Noho’olu residence can sleep 6 people, one master bedroom for 2 and a large second bedroom for four people. Minimum three-night stay.<br />All taxes are included in the rental rate:<br />4.25% General Excise Tax<br />10.25% Transient Accommodations Tax (TAT)<br />14.50% Total Lodging Tax<br />Base rate is based on two guests, additional $20 per person up to 6 max guests.<br /><br /><b>Guest access</b><br />The whole residence is available which includes a large yard and an adjoining area called the Koa Meadow where you can relax, picnic and enjoy the sounds of the birds and wind through the trees. There is a small cottage in the corner of the property where the caretaker lives.<br /><br />The house has an electronic lock at the front door with a passcode which will be provided prior to check-in. There is a key, which will be on the coffee table, for access to the house from the back patio/lanai.<br /><br /><b>Other things to note</b><br />The homes in the volcano area are on catchment water, rain water. We have a filtration system which makes it fine for cooking, drinking, bathing, washing dishes and clothes. Bottled water is provided for drinking for your first day of stay. <br /><br />The Volcano Village is located 30 minutes south of the main town of Hilo. There are only two small general stores, so it is best to do your main shopping for food and water supplies in Hilo, prior to heading to the Volcano area.<br /><br />The house is tucked away in the Volcano Forest and access through a one lane winding road with no street lights. It is best to get there during daylight if possible. We will provide detailed driving directions prior to your arrival.
