Feel free to enjoy alone time in the community area or meet friendly travelers from around the world.<br /><br />These amazing -- and rare -- grounds are in stark contrast to the concrete landscapes found at most other Kona condos and hotels, where guests are typically charged for parking, A/C and wi-fi.<br /><br />The unit itself is surrounded by lush tropical landscaping, including plumeria, banana and coconut trees, and is decorated with a beach theme that includes tasteful accents of blues and greens, large canvassed photographs of waves and scenic beaches, and woodworks of sea life.<br /><br />The ambience is fun, beachy and lively – a true Island feel.<br /><br />Blend tropical fruit smoothies and steam veggies with fresh local Hawaiian produce from the nearby outdoor market in your brand new kitchenette. <br /><br />It is fully equipped with anything you could possibly need for a weekend get-away or a month-long stay. There is not an actual stove in the kitchenette, but there is a full-sized fridge and sink, microwave oven, toaster, electric skillet, rice steamer, blender, plates, dishes, and a grill set and paper products you can use at the poolside grill.<br /><br />A hand-carved monkey-pod wood bar stands out as the centerpiece of the studio in between the kitchen and the living area, where there are comfortable wicker chairs and a quality queen-sized daybed with a 10-inch gel mattress. <br /><br />Use as a couch during the day and just store excess pillows in the wicker basket at night for a comfy bed.<br /><br />Leave the extra-tall sliding glass door open and feel the warm, refreshing breezes — or close it and turn on the new remote-controlled air conditioner that instantly cools the nearly 400-square-foot spacious unit.<br /><br />Grab the Tommy Bahama backpack chairs, beach bag and towels, boogie boards, umbrella, and cooler from the lanai and head out to one of the numerous nearby beaches for the day. And return to rinse off in your newly tiled walk-in shower with a river rock bottom. <br /><br />Located in the middle of town, you can easily walk to a multitude of world-class coffee houses, restaurants, bars, boutiques, art galleries, ice cream shops, and the Kailua Pier, where you can board boats that will take you on dolphin and manta ray swims, whale watching tours, scuba diving, snorkeling and fishing excursions, and dinner and sunset cruises. <br /><br />No need for a rental car, as it’s just a quick stroll to year-around music events, fairs, festivals and cultural sites, such as the Moku’aikaua Church and the Hulihe’e Palace.<br /><br />And it’s only a short trolley ride or drive to world-renowned beaches for surfing, boogie boarding and snorkeling. <br /><br />Or take a day-trip to Volcano National Park where you can witness erupting lava flows; Mauna Kea Peak, where there is snow year-around; or to the rain forests of the Hilo side of the island, where waterfalls and rainbows are plenty.<br /><br />Regardless of what you choose to do during your time on the Island, you will come home to one of the best beach bungalows in the complex -- if not in Kona!<br /><br />IRONMAN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP: 7-DAY MINIMUM<br /> <br />ANOTHER IMPORTANT NOTE:<br />There is free on-site parking, but it typically fills around 4 p.m. The front desk can guide you to free parking on the Kuakini side late at night. Nearby on-street parking on Alii Drive is frequently available for free.<br /><br />If you chose not to rent a car, an airport shuttle to the condo is available for about $30 or a taxi ride for slightly higher.<br /><br />The unit is on Alii Drive, a two-lane 15 m.p.h. road that can sometimes get busy with cars and pedestrians during the day. Great fun to watch, but if you want privacy, simply roll down your outside blinds or close the sliding-glass door.<br /><br />However, if you want to be set back a little, but with the same great view, check out one of my other oceanfronts! :)<br /><br />This is a no-pet and no-smoking complex. You may, however, smoke in a designated area on the property or across the street.<br /><br />Your unit will be spotless when you arrive and your linens and towels fresh and clean. There is not daily maid service provided, but if you would like to request a mid-stay cleaning or additional towels or sheets, arrangements can be made at an additional fee. There is also a coin-laundry on site.<br /><br />Try to arrive before 11 p.m. when the lobby desk closes. If you are unable to do so, please notify me so we can make arrangements for the key. <br /><br />If there is anything you need, please do not hesitate to contact me via the Airbnb app. You will receive directions from the airport, check-in instructions and house rules from me when you make your reservation.<br /><br />The majority of the units in this complex are privately owned and operated.
