The Tranquil Tent blends the magic of Hawaii with the comforts of home.<br /><br />Set on a wooden platform, the spacious canvas tent opens to a covered living area in your own private yard, surrounded by bamboo and greenery.<br /><br />Enjoy a cozy queen bed, outdoor shower and bath, fresh well water, Wifi, a fully equipped kitchen, and a flushing toilet. Fall in love with glamping as you reconnect with yourself and the Earth in this nature-filled escape.<br /><br /><b>The space</b><br />This space has a completely screened in tent/guest bedroom which has a very comfortable queen size bed, small bench, end tables, mirror and a simple armoire. <br /><br />We purposefully do not provide a TV and hope our space is a nature-inspired respite. That being said, we also know that you might want to retreat to the Tranquil Tent in order to do some work, in between exploring the Big Island. We have fast, broadband wireless internet, so you can stream or do video conferences. There is also a dropdown desk in the main living area.<br /><br />Attached to the room but not enclosed is an (unscreened) outdoor fully stocked kitchen, that has lava purified and filtered well water—delicious to drink and bathe in, a bath tub in the main living area and flushing (biogas) toilet, Outside and down the steps you will find an outdoor shower. <br /><br />Tucked away from the main house, you will be surrounded by bamboo and jungle and will have the opportunity to be one with nature, while still getting many of the comforts of home. <br /><br />For an additional charge, there is also an infrared sauna available you are welcome to use, if no one else is using it—coordinate with us and we can let you know when it’s available.<br /><br /><b>Guest access</b><br />Our gated driveway provides you easy car access to the Tranquil Tent, and you will have covered parking right next to the tent space.<br /><br /><b>Other things to note</b><br />This island is BIG and is named so appropriately. Unless you are staying in downtown Hilo, you are NOT within walking distance to just about anything.<br /><br />From our location and neighborhood, you can drive just 10-15 minutes to local fruit stands, Sunday farmers markets, grocery stores and local restaurants. Ocean cliffs with stunning views and tide pools are only a 5 minute drive away from the property.
