Get cozy in The Nest in Mill Valley. Up in the treetops, surrounded by magnolia and redwood trees, you'll feel like you are in a sanctuary of calm, but you're just steps to the center of Mill Valley's quaint downtown. Northern California's most famous hiking trails are right outside your doorstep. San Francisco is only 20 minutes away.<br /><br />The Nest was stylishly and thoughtfully designed for comfort; construction was completed recently so everything is brand-new. We're ready to welcome you!<br /><br /><b>The space</b><br />The Nest was designed to be cozy, comfortable and also maximize the space available. It has a full kitchen, living area, lofted bedroom, full bathroom, and dining area that can seat six or be used as a work space. The vaulted ceiling and architectural details create a space that is sunny, peaceful and surrounded by nature. AppleTV allows guests to access their own Netflix, Hulu, etc accounts. <br /><br />The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes, utensils, serve ware, wine glasses and coffee maker. We also provide basics like salt, pepper, olive oil, coffee and - if we are there - local bakery items to enjoy. <br /><br />The space can comfortably sleep four people: on a california king bed in the loft (with European linen bedding) and on the sofa which pulls out to become a queen bed. The sofa is brand new with a tempurapedic mattress (far more comfortable than other pull-outs.) Please note that the loft is accessible by a ladder and may not be safe for young children or elderly adults. <br /><br />The bathroom features a walk-in shower, fluffy towels and soap, shampoo, and conditioner. <br /><br />A washer/dryer combo is in the unit and detergent is provided. <br /><br />The Nest is located above the garage of the main house right next door. Guests have their own private entrance by walking up a lit staircase to a patio that leads them into the space. Because it is above a garage, please note that guests may hear the garage door open and close on occasion.<br /><br /><b>Guest access</b><br />The Nest is located in a quiet, residential neighborhood with ample street parking. Guests may have access to one parking space but parking is also plentiful on the street.<br /><br /><b>Other things to note</b><br />Please note that the family - including three energetic kids - live full time in the main house on the same property. You may hear the kids and their friends playing in the backyard or see our friendly, hypoallergenic dog running around. We are here to answer any questions you may have about the neighborhood or recommend our favorite restaurants, trails and waterfalls. <br /><br />We do our best not to bother our guests and can leave you completely alone if you prefer. Or we're always happy to have a chat and tell you what we love about living here!
