Welcome to The Flower Bed, a greenhouse cabin on the slopes of Mauna Loa, Big Island with everything you need for a great vacation. Relax on the outdoor patio, cozy up with a book on the loveseat, enjoy the rainfall shower. Gaze at the amazing stars and be lulled to sleep by evening nature sounds. Awake to birds in song and morning sun filtering through the window. Sample an edible flower, use a pinch of lavender for calm, and enjoy peekaboo ocean views. You won’t regret staying several nights!<br /><br /><b>The space</b><br />The space features a Queen Comfortgrande Memory foam bed, a loveseat, microwave, coffeemaker, and a mini fridge. You will also have a private restroom and a unique hot water outdoor shower (don't worry, its private!) . A patio with BBQ grill (plus side burner) and umbrella is conveniently located near a sink and food prep area (pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and spices/oil all provided). A clothesline is available for drying clothing, swimsuits, etc.<br />The space is equipped with snorkel equipment, beach towels and chairs, beach umbrella, bug spray, sunscreen, umbrellas for volcano, and a cooler. <br />The street is quiet with beautiful trees and foliage and makes for a lovely stroll as you listen to the birds sing. You can view South Point (the southernmost area in the USA) from some spots on the property. <br />Our property is located in rural Ocean View, Big Island. One of the Southern most towns in the USA. Our weather is perfect with warm days and cooler nights. Our skies have very little light pollution and make for perfect stargazing. <br />A rental car is recommended as this island is quite large and things are spread out. <br />Owners live onsite in a house nearby and can be available quickly if any issues arise. <br />This is rural Hawaii and you may hear roosters crowing and dogs barking.<br />Each area has special little touches that have been intentionally thought out to provide you with a comfortable and unique experience.<br />Located just 35 minutes from several beaches including South Point, one hour from Volcano's National Park, and just ten minutes from great hiking.<br />Please note; Hawaii state charges two different transient accommodations taxes, and a GE tax. Your price breakdown will reflect these items.<br /><br /><b>Guest access</b><br />Full access to outdoor kitchen, patio, restroom, shower, and greenhouse suite. Parking is very close to the unit on a cinder pad parking area shared with the main house.<br /><br /><b>Other things to note</b><br />This is a unique property in that it is a greenhouse. It is watertight and dry, but it does have open spaces (screened in windows). This allows for lovely tradewinds to pass through. We clean and sanitize after each guest, but you may see an ant, bug, gecko, or bit of dirt here and there. (Our plants love their soil! ) This is rural Hawaii so you will hear roosters crowing and dogs barking.<br />WiFi works best when above the lower metal surrounding the greenhouse. <br />The restroom is a dry flush toilet.
