This is our actual home :)<br /><br /><b>The space</b><br />Our first-floor home is a comfortable, family-friendly retreat tucked into the hillside above the charming town of Fairfax. Surrounded by nature and overlooking Cascade Canyon, it’s a place where you feel like you’re out in the wilderness yet town is 2 minutes away.<br /><br />The main level includes three bedrooms, a full kitchen, laundry room, dining area, and a sun-filled living room with expansive windows framing canyon views. The natural light is especially beautiful in the afternoons.<br /><br />The kitchen is well-equipped for cooking. Families are very welcome, and high chairs are provided.<br /><br />Outside, there are several inviting places to relax. The seating area overlooks the canyon and sits beside the pool, with shade for warmer afternoons. The property also features raised garden beds and a few quiet nooks perfect for reading, coffee, or evening wine.<br /><br />At the end of our quiet private road, an informal trail connects to the network managed by the Marin Municipal Water District, with access to miles of hiking and running trails, including those in Mount Tamalpais State Park.<br /><br />We’re located about two minutes above downtown Fairfax—not walkable, but a quick and easy drive. Being just above town means we enjoy about 30 extra minutes of sunshine each day.<br /><br />Spend your mornings with coffee overlooking the canyon, afternoons by the pool or exploring nearby trails, and evenings in the golden light as the canyon settles into quiet.<br /><br />Summer rental: <br />There is a second-floor apartment and home office which is not part of the rental and will be occupied by our dogsitter and dog during the summer. <br /><br />During the summer we are hoping for a 6-7 week renter, and we ask that the renter continues our house cleaning service - $160 every other Friday morning - pay cash or check to cleaner. <br /><br />Pool note:<br />Since the listing photos were taken, we’ve added a 4’ mesh safety fence around the pool.<br /><br /><b>Guest access</b><br />Guests will have access to the entire first floor of the home, outdoor seating areas, pool, garden, and surrounding property.<br />Second floor ADU available upon request.
