Spacious Room 2 bedroom (1 of 4) w/ keyed entry, queen bed, large work desk, closet w/ deadbolt.
Charming SOFA District Gated Victorian (2nd St.) is a 5 to 10 minutes walk to Adobe, Zoom, EY, San Jose McEnery Convention Center, Center for Performing Arts, SJ Civic Center, SAP (Sharks hockey & concerts), SJSU, Ca. Theater, Children's Discovery Museum, Tech Museum, Rock Climbing gym, Jui Jitsu & Boxing gyms, yoga studio, SOFA Market, San Pedro Square, restaurants, & bars.

The space
Distinguished Bedroom 2 (1 of 4) is the largest and has a dead bolted door, queen bed, a new window, hard wood floors, your own huge work desk (new lamp w/ charger) with comfy office chair.

There are toiletries in the bathroom in case you forgot something. There is a large TV with ROKU in your room to stream your apps. There is plenty of closet space (which also has a locking deadbolt to keep you items safe) to put your belongings. Your room will include a towel set and water bottle.

Common area has refrigerator, appliances in kitchen, all the condiments you could imagine, dining table and piano in dining room, bathroom is shared with other guests (if there are any, like during a conference), so schedule time accordingly. During slow season, such as winter you can possibly be the only guest! There is a bathroom across from your room, and another next to your room - both have signs. The home has air and heat, and large water heater.

We like our property because it is walking distance and uber distance to many places - including Adobe, Zoom, EY, San Jose McEnery Convention Center, Center for Performing Arts, San Jose Civic Center, SAP (Sharks hockey & concerts), SJSU, California Theater, Children's Discovery Museum, Tech Museum, Rock Climbing gym, Jui Jitsu & Boxing gyms, yoga studio, SOFA Market, San Pedro Square, along with MANY coffee shops, restaurants & bars.

Downtown is sprinkled with electric scooters and bikes to rent. Uber and Lyft are prevalent for rides, and food/grocery delivery is available through Amazon, Uber, and Instacart.

If you want to venture out on a day trip, like Santa Cruz, Napa, Carmel, Capitola, San Francisco, Monterey etc., we have super easy access to the freeway. The 280 entrance is a couple blocks up. We are a very short uber ride from the airport as well which is convenient after a long flight.

You are welcome to use the washer and dryer on the back porch, but please ask availability, and we ask a $4 donation each per load for soap and pg&e.

Welcome to becoming part of our AirBnB family during your stay! I look forward to meeting you or simply hearing of your ventures through the app. Have a great day!

Note: room is set up for 2 guests max. If you have a third guest, I can include a cot with a twin mattress, but it takes some muscle and time to setup, so advance notice is required & must be registered and paid for. :-) Thanks

Guest access
You can spend time in the dining room, bathroom, and kitchen, but note these are shared spaces so please clean up after yourself, even if there are not other guests present, as you never know when someone can check in to another room.

Do not enter other rooms and no un-registered guests are allowed on the premises. The laundry washing machine and dryer is on the back porch if you need it during an extended stay for a fee (toward expensive SJ utilities.)
The driveway is in the rear of the house, so if you aren't renting a car, you probably will not go out there, however, there is a picnic table for use, and a pull up workout device with free weights.

I have 2 other units on the property. The studio is an Airbnb rental and you have no access of course, and the basement apartment (separate entrance), where my son Nick (works at Google) or myself only as I do not rent this space out.

During your stay
I travel as well so I am not always there, but always available by app or phone if not, or schedule my son (works at Google and lives in basement family only apartment). I like to say hello and enjoy meeting my guests, but also respect privacy.

Other things to note
There is a $25/hour charge for late or early checkin and it has to be paid for, and approved in writing in advance, as it affects the cleaning and parking schedules. Parking in driveway is limited, and it is located in the back of the house rather than the front. It is an old-fashioned layout so from the front yard you enter through an iron gate. There is a lever on the inside left of gate, so just lift it to open. Always close the gate.

If you are parking your car at our place (based on availability), enter the chapel parking lot from Reed St. (across from Notre Dame High School) and proceed straight to the connecting alley. Our driveway is the first on the right. You can also park in front of our two door garage right before our driveway.

Note: free parking in the front of the house on 2nd St. and across the street. There is also a city/convention center parking lot a half block down, under overpass. It is free during the weekend and weeknights and $5/day m-f which is really inexpensive for downtown San Jose.

Parking is free in front of our house (closest option to front door), but do not park there Tuesday night because of street sweepers or you will get a ticket. There are signs accordingly.

Urban area- walking distance to convention center. Near 280 overpass. Electric scooter and bikes are for rent all around downtown SJ. Very convenient and fun.

Only use the main entrance for the bathroom. There are adjoining doors to one of the the bathrooms but they are permanently locked and have a note saying please do not use these doors. I do this to prevent the main door from getting locked and accidentally forgotten to unlock.

Quiet time is 10:00pm during the week, to respect others and their work schedule.

There is some downtown city noise - 280 overpass, jets entering San Jose Airport, Sirens occasionally, etc. we have ear plugs if you like, or you can book elsewhere if you can’t handle noise please.

The bathrooms are shared. We are down to earth and deal with it, but if you want your own bathroom this is not the place for you, although during slow season you can possibly have the bathroom to yourself.

We have a motion camera facing the front yard gate and back of the house driveway for safety reasons. These are not monitored. It deletes automatically in time. This is just a safety precaution.

Other than that, welcome!
