The kitchenette has a mini refrigerator, a coffee maker, a toaster, dishes, and silverware. The unit has high-speed wireless internet, a big 55-inch screen Smart TV, and complimentary Netflix is included for your stay. We also have a digital guidebook available for guests to get recommendations on places to go and things to do in the neighborhood.<br /><br />The unit is located at the Islander on the Beach, on the majestic Coconut Coast in Kapaa, the East coast of Kauai, just a short ten-minute drive from the airport and a few minutes away from various stunning tropical hiking trails; the Coconut Grove Marketplace is within walking distance where you will discover several gift shops, restaurants, art galleries, farmer markets and more. All resort amenities are included for free, including an outdoor pool, shared barbecue, and hot tub. After a long day of fun in the sun, the resort’s Tiki bar will be available to quench your thirst with your choice of several delicious tropical beverages (not included)<br /><br /><b>Guest access</b><br />Important Information About Your Stay<br />Please Note: This is a privately owned vacation rental located within the Islander on the Beach Resort. While you will enjoy the resort's amenities, your reservation is not through the hotel.<br />Housekeeping: Daily maid service is NOT INCLUDED. The condo is professionally cleaned and sanitized before your arrival. During your stay, additional housekeeping, towel exchanges, and linen changes are not provided.<br />Laundry: No laundry facilities / No laundry service provided during your stay but guests can go to Laundromat Express at the shopping center across the resort.<br />This arrangement is typical for privately owned vacation rentals and allows us to offer a well-appointed accommodation at a more competitive price than traditional hotel rooms. We look forward to hosting you!<br />You can arrive at the suite at any hour after the designated check in time. You can go straight to the unit and once there you can get the parking pass inside. You have full use of the resort outdoor amenities such as the swimming pool, hot tub, and the barbecue area. Don't forget to relax at the Tiki Bar as well.<br /><br /><b>Other things to note</b><br />-Hawaii tax of 14.962% plus 3% Kauai tax will be added onto the nightly rate and cleaning fee and will be collected with your payment.<br />-There are no parking, WIFI, or resort fees once you arrive.<br />-There is NO Daily maid service but there is an extra service “extended stay cleaning service” for stays longer than a week, we can arrange for a midstay tidy at an additional $75 cost.<br />- Full towel e change for &50.00 dollars.<br />-Resort Tiki bar (beverages not included)<br /><br />Frequently Asked Questions FAQ<br /><br />* Is this a 1 bedroom condominium?<br /> The Islander on the Beach is a condotel managed by Aston, and others like mine, being rented out by individual owners or offsite property managers. My suite is studio size: 372 square feet with an ocean view. Most units are about this size and have similar furnishings. There is a kitchenette in the room: mini refrigerator with freezer (cooler and an ice machine in the building), microwave, toaster, and coffee maker. Use the outdoor shared barbecue area to expand your dining options.<br /><br />A nice laundromat is just south of Foodland (behind Monica's) and is clean with coin machines available.<br /><br />* What is the difference between my suite, renting from Aston, or some travel agency or website?<br />The difference is price and choice of room. My suite is less expensive overall and is a ground-floor ocean view unit in the Niihau building so you know exactly what you are getting. I also take more care in ensuring my suite is updated and maintained thoroughly. You will not have maid service during your stay but we stock plenty of towels (bath and beach), tissues, toilet paper, and toiletries to ensure your comfort. You can contact me if you would like additional supplies or any extra cleaning services at additional cost.<br /><br />* Is this an oceanview suite?<br />Yes, this oceanfront unit is right on the water and offers open ocean views from the sliding glass door and/or the lanai. It also offers breathtaking sunrises. It is just 10 steps to the beach.<br /><br />* Is there a kitchen?<br />It is a mini kitchen with microwave, toaster, bar sized fridge, coffee maker, kettle, BBQs are located next to the pool (a minute walk).<br /><br />* What is there to do?<br />For short stays, you may want to keep it simple and stay at the resort for a relaxing time and walk over to the Coconut Marketplace or into Kapaa town. Lava Lava is right next door, and the Hukilau on the other side. <br />For longer stays, you will want a car to explore he beautiful scenery and variety found on Kauai. Book a rental car ahead of time since they are sometimes in short supply. You may find Alamo with the best rates<br /><br />* What is the bedding arrangement?<br />The suite is ideal for 2 adults.<br /><br />*Do we need our beach towels?<br />There are beach towels in the room<br /><br />* Is there a resort fee?<br />If you are booking directly from an owner like myself, there is no resort fee. If you book from Aston, there is about a $20/day fee.<br /><br />*What about WIFI?<br />High speed WIFI is free in the room.<br /><br />*Does the suite have air conditioning?<br />Yes, there is fairly new AC in the room, and nice ocean breezes. The ceiling fan will also offer natural cooling if you don't want A/C.<br /><br />*Where is suite #149 located?<br />It is in the Niihau building, on the ground floor, passing through the lobby area, go on the path toward the pool area, to the right side of the pool.<br /><br />*Is there swimming gear available?<br />No, for sanitary and liability reasons we do not offer snorkeling gear anymore.
