Book our renovated 3BR+2BA cabin for your Tahoe getaway! Located on the North shore in Tahoe Donner, we are a short drive from downtown Truckee. Donner Ski Resort is <5 minutes from the front door or drive 20 mins to Northstar, Alpine or Squaw. Donner Lake (with private access) is just down the hill or stay close to home and enjoy guest access to Donner’s amazing amenities; golf course, equestrian center, tennis, biking/hiking trails and gym with year round heated pools and hot tubs.<br /><br /><b>The space</b><br />Renovated in 2020, our cabin is a 3 bed, 2 bath family friendly home perfectly situated in Tahoe Donner (just behind the golf course). Three hours from San Francisco, our cabin in the woods is the perfect retreat to create fun memories with friends/family or for a romantic getaway to celebrate a special something. Minutes away from the slopes, the Lake, Truckee’s awesome shopping and renowned dining and brewery scene and tons of outdoor activities in and around the Truckee and Lake Tahoe area. There is no shortage of things to do! Or if you just want to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life enjoy a soak in the freestanding tub, smores by the outdoor firepit or just cuddle up with a book and a glass of wine (or hot chocolate) next to the fire. Our home is fully equipped for families and groups that love to cook and socialise. Our only ask is that you respect the house and treat it with the same care as you would your own home. <br /><br />About the house. <br />Comfortably sleeping 4 adults plus kids, our home is perfect for 1 - 2 families or group of friends to enjoy. You’ll love the open layout and quiet setting. Freshly painted with new flooring and furniture throughout, including a gas fireplace downstairs, new fully equipped kitchen (we love to cook and bake!) with a gas range, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer as well as a crockpot for winter nights and a coffee machine and waffle maker to line your stomach before heading out for the day! With 2 living areas (both with large smart TVs equipped with Netflix, YT, Amazon Prime etc for streaming) we have a large sectional couch in the den area as well as oversized bean bags designed for piling on to watch a movie or play any of the provided board games (even if the kids want to stream something else downstairs or play video games). The dining table seats 6, ext to fit 8-10. We have a covered back patio with outdoor lighting and a firepit. In summer months, enjoy the grill and pizza oven (these are removed into storage in winter to protect them against the weather!). <br /><br />The house is equipped with Nest thermostat and with smart speakers throughout so you can play music in every room and easily check the day's weather, keep up to date with the news or get dinner recommendations. A washer and dryer is available in the laundry room if needed throughout your stay. <br /><br />Lights out. <br />The master bedroom upstairs includes a queen bed, walk-in closet, desk area and separate seating area. The en-suite bathroom has a double vanity, freestanding soaking tub and bonus corner shower. There is plenty of space for air mattresses we can provide on request to create additional sleeping options in the master and upstairs Den. Downstairs, the second bedroom has a queen bed and the third bedroom has a twin bunk bed and bonus twin trundle bed you can pull out. The downstairs living area also has a brand new pull out queen sofa-bed. Our bedrooms are all equipped with high quality bedding and towels - you’ll sleep well in the mountains! <br /><br />Got kids?<br />Us too and we’ve got you covered. For those of you traveling as a family we know how much extra stuff this means you have to pack. So, leave it at home. With 3 boys ourselves we are fully equipped for our littler guests entertainment with a mini crib, infant swing, pack-n-play, strollers, kids utensils and all the toys and books you could ever need (hidden out of sight!). And with a basketball hoop, tetherball and a host of outdoor games too there is as much fun outside as inside. <br /><br />Our home is strictly no smoking (or vaping) and pets are not allowed without prior discussion with us. You will be subject to withholding of your security deposit if you or anyone in your group is found to have violated this.<br /><br />Parking. <br />We can accommodate 4 cars on the driveway and you will have access to the garage. There is also plenty of street parking available. <br /><br />CV-19 precautions.<br />We take covid seriously and have installed a touchless hand sanitiser station as you enter the home and we have deep cleans between guests as well as leaving a gap between bookings. Similarly we ask that you respect the local residents when leaving the property by wearing masks (we’ll even provide those too in case you've forgotten yours).<br /><br />Adventure awaits....outside the home. <br />If it’s Winter and you want to hit the slopes we are a stone's throw away from Donner ski resort as well as awesome cross country and snowshoe trails. And if you want to explore other resorts, we are a short drive from Northstar, Alpine, Squaw and Sugar Bowl. If you didn’t come to ski - that’s ok too! You can enjoy sledding or building snowpeople in the backyard, ice skate downtown or at Northstar or Squaw or relax your muscles in the year round lap pool and hot tubs available at the rec centre less than a mile from the house. Throughout the rest of the year, you can enjoy the many amenities of Tahoe Donner including private beach/marina on Donner Lake, private rec centre access with 2 pools, 3 hot tubs, gym, sauna, steam room, playgrounds and basketball court, Golf, Tennis, Mountain Biking, Equestrian Centre, Hiking Trails, Bocce Ball and 3 restaurants all within our HoA. Or explore the many other amazing areas of Tahoe including hiking, beaches and lakes abound. <br /> <br />Guest passes for Tahoe Donner facilities (fees apply, kids under 7 are free) will be left at the property. <br /><br />If you're here to party...go elsewhere. Tahoe Donner is not a party location. It's a location where people come to have fun, relax and where respecting your neighbors and the local community is essential. We have good relationships with our neighbors and Truckee and Tahoe Donner have a strict noise ordinance and quiet hours (10pm - 7am) which is enforced. The renter will be responsible for all fines. We live here for much of the year so please don’t spoil it for us or those around us.<br /><br />For children: Bunk beds have detachable bumpers to stop rolling out. We also have a mini crib, bassinet, pack n play, infant swing, changing mat, baby play mat, infant baby bjorn chair, kids utensils and plates, high chair, bathroom stool, toys, trains, hotwheels, puzzles, books galore, board games, sound machines, monitors, nightlights and a stroller.....phew!<br /><br /><b>Guest access</b><br />You have access to our entire house, please treat it as if it is your own home. We do have good relationships with our fulltime neighbors and so please be respectful or we will hear from them.<br /><br /><b>Other things to note</b><br />In Winter, the weather can be unpredictable. In the event of a storm our cancellation policy stands. However in those rare situations we will of course work with you to see if we can rearrange your stay but note that this will be dependent on other bookings so there is no guarantee.<br /><br />2026 Short-Term Tenant Card Restrictions<br />Tahoe Donner has some black out dates on the cards which provide a discounted rate on amenities. <br /><br />Short-Term Tenant Cards are welcome at the private amenities approximately 332 days a year.
