Hiking and biking trails start right in your backyard, and the huge sunny deck invites you to spend lazy afternoons in the sun after enjoying the great outdoors.<br /><br />Or, head a mere 2 minutes down the road to Truckee river and enjoy riverside dining, or take the running and biking trails or the main road heading to Tahoe City and fabulous Lake Tahoe to go swimming, boating and whatever your heart desires in this nature paradise. A favorite thing to do is to rent a raft in Tahoe City and enjoy the leisurely ride down Truckee River, which ends in walking distance from this amazing cabin in beautiful Alpine Meadows.<br /><br />Your home away from home is only a 3 minute drive away from the Alpine Meadows Base Area, 5 minutes from Olympic Valley and 7 minutes from Tahoe City and beautiful Lake Tahoe. Winter skiing and riding, hiking, biking, swimming, boating - anything is possible and just minutes away from this unique property. Choose your Tahoe pleasure!<br /><br />Enjoy spectacular mountain views from the open plan kitchen, dining room and living room under 25ft high ceilings as well as from the adjacent south-west facing deck. Big windows and doors guarantee a cross-breeze at all times, making it comfortable and never too hot even in summer. On cooler nights, cozy up in front of a crackling fire in the wood-burning fireplace while enjoying your favorite show or movie on the oversized brand new Samsung Smart TV. <br /><br />Entertain your friends at the real-wood, alpine style dining table set in front of the open, fully equipped kitchen with everything you need.<br /><br />Ground Level<br /><br />Two entrances, living room with fireplace (fire wood is provided), dining room, kitchen, wardrobe corner.<br /><br />Bedroom 1 fully equipped with a California King sized bed<br /><br />Bedroom 2 with two twin sized beds, full bathroom, laundry room with washer and dryer<br /><br />Very large deck in front of the house plus separate decks on each side of the house, providing sun or shade as desired.<br /><br />Upper Level<br /><br />Master Bedroom with King sized bed, en-suite full bathroom, ample storage space, open gallery with extremely comfy chaise longue, sofa and wet bar.<br /><br />Free parking in designated parking area in front of house (fits 2 cars - for winter: please move cars out from the parking space during heavy snow so that the snow plow can clear the driveway).<br /><br /><b>Guest access</b><br />The entire space is all yours!<br /><br />Entry is via electronic lock. The code will be provided on the day of arrival.<br /><br />Early or late check out may be possible based on availability, please just talk to us and ask!<br /><br />The house is up some steps from street level. <br /><br />Advice for winter: Steps are cleared of snow and ice before your arrival but not on an ongoing basis during your stay. Salt and snow shovels are provided in case of heavy snowfall during your stay.<br /><br /><b>Other things to note</b><br />An open fireplace adds so much atmosphere and is truly something special in an alpine chalet. Please enjoy! Firewood and all necessary equipment are provided at no additional cost for your convenience.<br /><br />However, we kindly ask that you please treat the fireplace with great care and always close the metal grate in front of the fireplace if a fire has been lit, as well as to always keep it tightly closed overnight to avoid any sparks inadvertently blowing out and causing a hazard. Any questions on the fireplace please let us know and we’ll be happy to help!<br /><br />Finally: this is our mountain home and we incredibly enjoy staying there. We truly hope you will find it as beautiful, cozy and special as we do. As this is a home we actually use ourselves, we kindly ask that you treat it as you would treat your own home.
