Nestled in the majestic redwoods just steps from Old Mill Park, the Dipsea trail, the award-winning library, and the eateries and shops downtown, this unique home was designed in 1955 by renowned local architect Gus Costigan (El Paseo). Signature elements--rough-hewn Dutch doors, repurposed brick, redwood beams, European-styled balconies--give this home a cozy Marin County vibe. Your perfect base to enjoy the natural beauty surrounding this world-class "village" located just 20 minutes from SF!

The space
This is a comfortable, well-appointed custom home where you will immediately feel at ease, with cozy furnishings throughout and greenery views from every window.
Because of its unique layout--with one bedroom and bath on the first floor living area, and two bedrooms and one bath on the second level--this 1,870-square foot classic home is perfect for friend groups and families who want to be together but have their own space, and for guests of all ages with good physical mobility (there are two staircases in the home, and plenty of great hiking trails and walking paths nearby).

The nightly rate includes 12% city/county taxes and is considered an excellent value here (one single nice hotel room in this area can cost around $400 per night!)

This property is managed, maintained, and marketed by ConciergeMarin since 2024.

Guest access
The entire home, 2 parking spaces, and back yard patio are reserved exclusively for our confirmed guests.

Other things to note
Mill Valley is known for its 100+ historic "steps, lanes and paths". This home is located next to one of them, it’s a beautiful and peaceful hillside step path which locals may use from time to time to get from downtown Mill Valley up to the hills above. In addition, the famous Dipsea steps are one block away.

There are two staircases inside the home: One from the front door leading up to the living space and first bedroom, and one from the living space up to the second floor where two additional bedrooms and one bath are located.

The original brick fireplace is currently not available (and wood-burning fires and other flames are highly discouraged in this heavily wooded area and in Mill Valley and Marin County in general).

The short driveway is fairly steep for some cars, so it may be best to back cars into it. Quite often, especially on weekdays, there are also short-term off street public parking spaces available for visitors.

For guests staying longer than ten days we do require a mid-stay light cleaning, and for guests staying multiple weeks light cleanings would need to be arranged every two weeks or so, directly with our longtime trusted housekeeper.

The nightly rate includes 12% city/county taxes and is considered an excellent value here (one single nice hotel room in this area can cost around $400 per night!)

This is just one of the listings on our roster of popular, upscale and unusual Airbnbs, with Mill Valley our specialty since 2014. We are happy to answer any questions you may have!

This property is managed, maintained, and marketed by ConciergeMarin since 2024.
