Come unwind in our quiet and charming guest suite. The room has its own private entrance, an expansive deck, is modern and clean, has a lot of natural light, and is beautifully decorated. French doors open up to a private deck, allowing you to sit outside and enjoy a warm cup of coffee or glass of wine while embracing the peacefulness that this hidden gem offers. The property is nestled on a hillside and is surrounded by natural greenery. Many hiking trails are accessible once you step outside.<br /><br /><b>The space</b><br />The guest suite is connected to the main house, but has its own private entry, a full bathroom, and a large private deck. The guest suite is on the bottom of the property, so you’ll have to walk down a couple dozen hillside steps to get to it. The steps can be a challenge if you aren’t used to going up and down a lot of steps on a regular basis. <br /><br />A smart lock with customizable entry code and built-in alarm will provide an added layer of privacy/security. The room opens up to a 400 sq. ft. private redwood deck, with modern deck furniture; it's perfect for lounging if you choose. Great views of Mt. Tam, too. <br /><br />The room has a comfortable queen bed, 100% cotton Parachute and/or Coyuchi bedding, a work desk, a separate seating area, and a skylight and windows that bring in a lot of natural light. There is also a wall mounted 43" LG Smart TV that swivels and extends out from a long arm so that you can watch TV while in bed. The room is spacious enough for two people and has beautiful French doors that open up to the redwood deck to add to the square footage of the room. The deck furniture includes a full-size sofa with matching chairs, and two separate Adirondack chairs, perfect to sit and enjoy a glass of wine in the evening, while admiring the views. <br /><br />A large bathroom has a couple of windows that open and one window that doesn't. The windows let in a lot of natural sunlight. The bathroom has a shower stall (no tub). Brand new tiled flooring adds to the brightness of the space, and the tiled countertops add a lot of character/warmth to the space. <br /><br />The bathroom is stocked with Aesop hand and bath cleanser, Aveda and EO shampoo and conditioners, body and hand lotions, extra towels, a blow dryer, and everything else needed to make your stay a comfortable one.<br /><br />The main room's closet has a Dyson heat & cool air purifier, extra blankets, a wool outdoor blanket, an iron and small ironing board, a private safe, fire extinguisher, first-aid kit, a small two-drawer cabinet, and a small fridge. The closet has plenty of space to hang your clothes. The room also has a Keuring coffee maker with plenty of varied flavored K-cups, coffee cups, and assorted teas. There is also a Fellow electric kettle. A small microwave is located in one of the floating cabinets. <br /><br />There are small trash cans throughout the space, but we also have two large trash and recycling bins located on the car deck. <br /><br />Outside lights provide lighting to the deck. The string lights on the deck railing, deck wall sconces, entryway light, and the hillside steps are all automated, and can be controlled from the clearly marked light switches located on the inside wall to the left of the entry door. These lights can also be controlled on an outside deck post located to the right before you enter the deck. Lights are currently programmed, but can be re-programmed to suit your needs (just send us a message).<br /><br /><b>Guest access</b><br />Guests will have access to the entire bottom level of the property, which includes a 400 sq. ft. redwood deck, a private room (w/private bathroom) with private entrance and French doors, as well as the hillside steps that lead to the guest suite. All other areas of the property are not to be accessed by guests. Main house occupants will not disturb you while you are enjoying your stay. However, they are available should you need assistance.<br /><br /><b>Other things to note</b><br />Shoes must be removed when entering the room. The main house occupants will do their best to be quiet while you occupy the guest suite, and also have a "no shoes in house" policy as well, so that will limit the noise heard coming from the upstairs area. The guest suite has a 2 person limit, so additional guests cannot stay overnight without prior notice.<br /><br />No smoking or vaping allowed indoors; smoking or vaping outdoors is okay.
