We are 2.5 miles from Issac Hale Beach Park, swimming and thermal heated warm ponds.<br /><br /><b>The space</b><br />** PLEASE READ IMPORTANT: Current Pohoiki Road restoration from the 2018 eruption is taking place through 2026 . The access will always be open but directions and condition of the road are constantly changing, getting here is an adventure in itself. It takes some effort. We keep guest updated prior to arrival. We live on the second floor.<br /><br />* Guided tours of the farm are available as well as taste of farm produce in season. <br /><br />* Located 1 hour from the Hilo International Airport.<br /> <br /> 35 minutes from Pahoa Town ( closest town for supplies)<br /><br /> 1 hour 20 minutes from Volcano National Park.<br /> <br />5 minutes from Issac Hale Beach Park, the newest black sand beach and hot ponds .<br /><br /> 25 minutes from Uncle Robert's Awa Bar and Farmers Market.<br /><br />Although we are close to Pahoa Town in miles, the upper portion of our road is currently covered by lava and what use to be a 10 minute drive is now closer to a 35-40 minute, albeit, stunning drive. <br /> <br /><br />We are an Off-Grid small farm, relying on solar panels and a rainwater harvesting system. But you might not notice as we have a state of the art solar system and supply most modern house amenities. We do not provide air conditioning and encourage thoughtful consumption of resources. <br /><br /> <br /><br /><br /> Pohoiki Kipuka features the owner's residence and one private vacation apartment that accommodates two people ,( extra guest are expressly prohibited ). This is a hosted rental meaning that per Hawaii law your host lives on site. Hawai’i residents owned and operated. <br /><br /> <br /><br />We triple filter our water using a sediment, charcoal and a final filter that is called "Quantum Disinfection" it kills 99.9% bacteria, virus, cysts, algae, yeast, etc. No need to buy plastic bottled water. <br /><br />We have the normal coqui frogs and various bugs you would expect to find outside in Hawaiian nature, your accommodation includes screens on all windows and doors <br /><br />We are a family farm in restoration not a commercial farm. We do not use pesticides.<br /><br /><b>Guest access</b><br />You are free to roam the property and sit in the garden chairs or lounge on the grass under the trees. <br /><br /><br />We share the private gravel road access with the neighbors while we wait for Pohoiki Road to be restored. . Surrounded by stunning lava formations and steam vents from the 2018 eruption. The entire area is off the grid, most properties are over 5 acres .<br /><br /><br /> Please do not go on the neighbors private property without asking permission.<br /><br /><b>Other things to note</b><br />Hawaii Transient Accommodation Tax and GE Tax ID# is required by the State of Hawaii on all listings.
