Pour yourself a glass of wine and enjoy the sunset over Mount Diablo from the garden patio. This cozy, light-filled guesthouse is a quiet escape with natural wood tones and a laid-back vibe, perfect for relaxing or getting a bit of work done.

The space
You’ll have a full kitchen and an open living/dining area. Outside, there’s a private garden with two recliners, a comfy sectional, and a firepit—great for evening chats or just unwinding under the stars.

If you’re visiting family nearby, this is a nice spot to recharge and enjoy the view. If you’re working remotely, the fast gigabit internet and peaceful setting make it easy to focus.

A quick note about the space: Our son loves to play the piano, and sometimes the sound can carry through to the guesthouse. Most guests don’t mind (some even enjoy it!), but if it’s ever a bother, just let us know—we’re happy to work around your schedule.

Things to do

There’s plenty to explore nearby: hiking at Lafayette Reservoir, Briones Regional Preserve, or Mount Diablo’s Rock City (great for kids, too). Check out the John Muir House, Ruth Bancroft Gardens, or the Lindsey Wildlife Museum. Downtown Lafayette, Walnut Creek, and the Martinez Waterfront all have great places to eat and shop.

Guest access
The guesthouse is attached to our home, but is private and you’ll have your own entrance through a private yard, so you can come and go as you like.
