High-end sliding glass doors open wide - sleep to the sound of waves!<br /><br /><b>The space</b><br />Enjoy a full kitchen renovation, partial bath renovation, and many other updates that took place in April-June 2024! There is a new tri-zone AC system. The condo is now even more amazing.<br /><br />My husband and I purchased this condo in December 2022. I grew up on Maui, and it has been my dream to have a condo in Papakea to use and share with others. During our many family visits to Maui, we always stayed at Papakea because we loved the view, grounds, and location. <br /><br />Papakea F407 has two bedrooms and one bathroom, and sleeps 6. The downstairs primary bedroom has a queen bed. The loft bedroom (which is open to the living room) has a queen bed and two twin beds, making it great for families. Please note: given the balcony, steep stairs, and loft, children require close supervision, and this condo may not be appropriate for all children (i.e., children below 7). <br /><br />The condo is set up like a friend's beach home (much better equipped than most rentals), including beach towels, beach chairs, cooler, umbrella, and boogie boards. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you may need, including mai-tai glasses, Instant Pot, Nespresso machine (uses "Original Line" capsules), and drip coffee maker. <br /><br />The building has an elevator. The condo has its own washer/dryer. <br /><br />The location is excellent! You are within steps of the Kaanapali boardwalk/beach trail with beautiful views. Restaurants, food trucks, a grocery store, bakery, shops, and more are within walking distance. <br /><br />The sand directly in front of Papakea comes and goes depending on tides and weather. There is a sea wall and steps leading down. Weather and waves permitting, people swim and snorkel in front of Papakea. and lounge chairs on the grass behind the sea wall provide a beautiful place to relax, read, or soak in the ocean view. North Kaanapali beach - a larger beach with lots of sand - is a short walk away. There is fantastic snorkeling at popular nearby Kahekili (Airport) Beach. <br /><br />Following the heartbreaking wildfire that destroyed historic Lahaina town in August 2023, West Maui's restaurants, businesses, and their local employees are eager for respectful, compassionate, and generous visitors to come to Maui and help the economy and local workers. Please do not venture into burned areas, including most of the town of Lahaina. <br /><br />In addition to the nightly rate, there is a cleaning fee and a Hawaii lodging tax of 18.712%. These charges are included in the AirBnB total cost. There are no other fees. <br /><br />As of July 1, 2025, Papakea Resort eliminated its resort fee! You still enjoy all the (free) resort amenities: weekly Mai Tai party, lei-making class, exercise classes, tennis rackets/balls, pickleball rackets/balls, and golf putters/balls. Parking for one vehicle is free, and a second vehicle is $5/day. <br /><br />PLEASE NOTE:<br />1. Papakea Resort is undergoing a 2-year "Interior Renovation" project to replace all indoor pipes. Starting November 2025, the work will be on buildings far from the condo (buildings J, K, and L). If you have any concerns about this work, please contact me for more details.<br /><br /><b>Guest access</b><br />This is a fully private condo with private lanai (balcony). Guests share the Papakea Resort grounds, including two heated pools, two jacuzzi hot tubs, lighted tennis courts and pickleball courts (make reservations and get free equipment rental at the Front Desk), shuffleboard, golf putting greens, gas BBQ grills, and two cabanas.<br /><br /><b>Other things to note</b><br />Papakea Front Desk hours are 8 am-10 pm daily. If you are arriving after hours, pick up the phone outside the lobby front door and you will be connected directly to 24-hour security who will take care of you and guide you to the condo. <br /><br />There are luggage carts at the back of the lobby building that you can use to transport your bags to the condo.
