If you prefer grilling, head out to the BBQ areas, where it’s a real treat to meet and “talk story” with fellow guests, before heading back to dine on your lanai. The ocean views from there are extraordinary. This unit has central AC, cable TV, high-speed internet and WIFI, all complementary (as is assigned parking, 1 vehicle per unit is free). The reef area in front of the resort is home to Hawaiian Sea Turtles; endemic to Hawai’i, these ancient air-breathing reptiles go back 150 million years, and weigh-in at 150 to 400 pounds each, amazing! Another marvelous nature experience includes the winter return of Humpback Whales to our protected waters; they travel 3,500 miles to birth their big babies (roughly,12 feet long, weighing 2,000 pounds), then nurse and nurture them until it’s time to head back to Alaska in April.
