The studio is thoughtfully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay and makes a perfect home base for exploring beaches, snorkeling spots, coffee farms, and downtown Kona.<br /><br /><b>The space</b><br />This peaceful ocean-view studio is located on the hillsides above Kailua-Kona.<br /><br />At 650 ft elevation, the studio enjoys cooler temperatures and steady ocean breezes. Many guests say their favorite part of staying here is the screened-in lanai, where you can cook, relax, or work while enjoying wide views of the Pacific. In the evening, the lanai becomes the perfect place to watch Kona’s colorful sunsets over the ocean.<br /><br />Inside the studio you'll find:<br />• comfortable queen bed<br />• seating area<br />• dedicated workspace with reliable Wi-Fi<br />• thoughtful amenities for a relaxed stay<br /><br />The lanai kitchenette includes:<br />• microwave<br />• two-burner hot plate<br />• mini refrigerator<br />• sink<br />• coffee maker<br />• cookware, dishes, and utensils<br /><br />The property is located in a quiet residential hillside neighborhood, just minutes from some of Kona’s best beaches and activities.<br /><br />Nearby highlights include:<br />• Magic Sands (White Sands) Beach – 1 mile<br />• Kahaluʻu Snorkel Beach – 1 mile<br />• Downtown Kona – about 10 minutes (5 miles) with many restaurants, bars, and oceanfront shops<br />• Walua Road – 2 blocks away, a popular local route for running, walking, and cycling<br /><br />The studio is located on the upper level of my owner-occupied home, and guests access the unit through a private side entrance that leads through the backyard to the studio and screened lanai. Two friendly dogs live on the property and may greet you when you arrive.<br /><br />Guests enjoy a private, peaceful space while still having a host nearby if anything is needed during their stay.<br /><br /><b>Guest access</b><br />Guests access the studio through a private side entrance that leads through the backyard to the studio and screened lanai on the upper level.<br /><br />The backyard is shared space with the main house, and you may be greeted by two friendly resident dogs along the way. Many guests enjoy saying hello to them, but if you prefer not to interact, I’m happy to keep them inside during your arrival.<br /><br />Guests have private use of:<br />• the studio<br />• the screened lanai<br />• a designated driveway parking space<br /><br />Guests are also welcome to use the outdoor shower, located to the right of the main house entrance, which is perfect for rinsing off sand after the beach.<br /><br />The main house and other areas of the property are reserved for the host.<br /><br /><b>Other things to note</b><br />Owner-occupied home<br />The studio is located on the upper level of my home, and guests access the unit via a flight of stairs. I live on the property, but guests have their own entrance and private space.<br /><br />Friendly dogs on property<br />Two friendly dogs live on the property and may greet you in the backyard when you arrive.<br /><br />No air conditioning<br />The studio does not have A/C. Because the home sits at about 650 ft elevation, the space stays comfortable with ceiling fans and natural ocean breezes. Temperatures typically range around 80°F during the day, with nights around 65°F in winter and closer to 70°F in summer.<br /><br />No TV<br />No TV is provided in the studio. The space is designed for unplugging and relaxing, with ocean views, sunsets, and great birdwatching from the lanai. <br /><br />Kitchenette setup<br />The kitchenette is designed for simple meals and includes a microwave, two-burner hot plate, mini fridge, cookware, and dishes.<br /><br />No Washer<br />There is no washing machine in the studio. For longer stays, guests will need to use a local laundromat in town.<br /><br />Residential neighborhood<br />The home is located in a residential neighborhood, so you may occasionally hear typical neighborhood sounds such as dogs, neighbors, or everyday activity.<br /><br />Island environment<br />You may also hear natural island sounds like birds during the day and coqui frogs singing at night.<br /><br />Hillside location<br />The home sits on a Kona hillside, and a car is recommended for getting around the island.
