Cozy 1 bed/1 bathroom finished attic apartment on a quiet street on the ridge between Noe Valley and the Castro. Easy access to the whole city, in a real SF neighborhood. Walking distance to two great neighborhood retail streets. 400 square feet/26 square meters.<br /><br />SF Registration SF2025-000367STR<br /><br /><b>The space</b><br />A guest suite in the finished attic of our single family home, it is often reserved for our friends and visiting family. When it is free we like to rent it out to other guests, in gratitude to those whose homes we've shared in our travels around the world. Note that it has a shared foyer with our space, and sometimes we leave our doors open to the foyer -- do let us know if you'd like more privacy.<br /><br />The space is simple and cozy, with a pitched ceiling that may not be comfortable for taller people. <br /><br />The bed is queen-sized, with a locally made McCroskey mattress. In the living room, there is also a pull-out couch. The couch can fit two people who like each other very much, and is reasonably comfortable for a pull-out couch. <br /><br />There is a tiny kitchenette with mini-refrigerator, microwave, single induction hotplate, and equipment for making coffee and tea. <br /><br />The bathroom includes a tub, shower, toilet and sink.<br /><br />For families, we offer a Pack n Play with foam mattress and fitted sheet, along with the two beds. There is also a removable gate for the stairs.<br /><br /><b>Guest access</b><br />The apartment is a guest suite taking up the full attic floor of our home. It shares a foyer with our space. From the foyer, Huib's art studio is to the left, and our main living levels are straight ahead. There are stairs leading to your space, with a door you can lock from the inside. During they day, we often leave the doors open to the rest of our house. At night, we close off access to the rest of our house, but you can come and go as you please at any time without bothering us. If we're around, don't hesitate to ask us for advice. Also, please let us know if you'd like more privacy.<br /><br /><b>Other things to note</b><br />Jeff has lived in SF since 1991, and Huib since 1995. Jeff is originally from Los Angeles, and Huib from Holland. We've been together since we met in Holland in 1994. <br /><br />Huib is a jewelry designer, and has his own studio at home. He teaches around the world. Unless you're also from Holland, Huib's name is not pronounceable. Try your best; he's heard worse.<br /><br />Jeff is a city planner, currently on sabbatical.<br /><br />Huib speaks Dutch, we both speak terrible German, and Jeff would love to remember his Italian and Russian.
