Our studio is nestled in the treetops, minutes from Muir Woods. The studio is just steps away from the best hiking and biking trails, a short drive to downtown Mill Valley, Mt. Tam, and the Pacific Ocean. Nearby you will find the best coffee, pastries, and fine dining in the Bay. The studio features a private entrance and is equipped with all you need for a relaxing getaway among the redwoods.
*We invite you to read the full description and house rules to ensure a 5-star experience for all*

The space
Wake up to sweeping views of the San Francisco Bay, Angel Island, and the Bay Bridge. From your private deck, you can take in sunrises over the water and sunsets over the hills—an experience that feels far away from city life, yet is just minutes from downtown Mill Valley. To experience the view that our studio offers, you must drive a 5-minute winding road up the side of our hill. While the road is perfectly safe, if you’re afraid of heights, our home may not be for you.

The studio is cozy, so it is best for solo travelers or two people who don’t mind sharing close quarters. The studio is on the lower level of a two-story property and requires the ability to navigate two longer flights of stairs.

The bedroom is beautifully designed with a mix of modern touches and carefully curated vintage pieces. There is a mini fridge, a microwave (we provide compostable napkins, plates, forks, and spoons), a Nespresso coffee maker with a variety of coffee pods, an electric tea kettle, Harney & Sons teas, sugar, creamers, and compostable to go cups. Please note there is no A/C or television.

The studio has a private attached bathroom with a shower, toilet, and sink. There is also a large closet space to store your belongings.

You also have access to a long deck that runs the length of the studio that only you will have access to. There is a small table and chairs on this deck for you to enjoy. There is also a larger deck on the upper level of the property (the level we live on) with a large table and chairs with excellent views that you are free to use. It is quite private and we do not use this area when we have Airbnb guests.

Tucked into a quiet, coveted neighborhood, the studio is just a quick drive—or a scenic downhill 20–25 minute walk—from downtown Mill Valley with its charming cafés, restaurants, and shops. Our town is celebrated for its beautiful homes and seamless connection to nature.

A short stroll down our redwood-lined road brings you to trailheads leading to Cascade Falls, the Dispea, and the historic “Steps, Lanes, and Paths” that weave through Mill Valley. For those seeking adventure, you can even hike all the way to Muir Woods.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
We are in the thick of nature up on our hill. You may hear deers traipsing through the underbrush at night, or spot the occasional spider seeking refuge from a foggy day. You should be comfortable with nature and all it has to offer to enjoy our space.

You may hear us moving around upstairs, and generally be aware of our presence. We try to keep noise to an absolute minimum, and often we are not at home at all. There is a sound machine and individually packaged earplugs available if needed.

A reminder that the road is winding and gains elevation as you drive to our house. The road has recently been re-paved and is wide enough for two cars in most places, though you may need to pull to the side for other cars in some areas. The hillside has guardrails, homes, and trees along it to provide an extra sense of protection. While this road is safe and used frequently, some are more sensitive to heights and winding roads and we want to be fully transparent about our road so you are not surprised.

Please be aware that our home has many stairs and decks, some without complete railings. Please use your best judgment when staying with us.

Guest access
The studio is on the lower level of our house and has a private entrance which requires walking down a number of stairs to access, therefore unfortunately it is not handicap accessible. You will have complete and private access to the downstairs level and surrounding lower decks.
