Thank you :) <br /><br />*******************************<br /><br />- The studio is on the entry level of the main house but completely private with a separate outside entrance. There are no condos, apartments or hotels on our street and there is no noisy traffic. We reside on the 2nd level.<br /><br />- We are onsite and check the that the studio is cleaned properly/help with the cleaning. (Unlike off-island owners). Thank you for supporting Hawaii-based residents! <br /><br />- FAST INTERNET - Fiberoptics. The internet is the best we can get here and fast. We work from home often and also need good internet. (However we rarely use it in the early mornings - the bandwidth is all yours!)<br /><br />- We provide Hawaiian coffee or your first morning and Hawaiian teas<br /><br />- Free Parking in front of our house - no time limit <br /><br />- Cooler backpack, bags and ice packs for hikes, beach trips etc<br /><br />- Binoculars are also provided for whale & lava watching (Nov - Feb) and general use all year<br /><br />- Boogey boards, snorkel gear, beach towels, a beach chairs & umbrella are provided for use (no charge) <br /><br /> - There is a desk, bathroom, living area and sleeping area and with blackout curtains in the bedroom/living area. <br /><br />- As the unit is on the lower level it stays much cooler than outside temperatures and has no direct sunlight. It also has good airflow and lots of windows. <br /><br />- We provide fluffy beach towels and bathroom towels, extra pillows <br /><br />- The TV is now on a bracket that comes out from the wall and is viewable from the bed. (Not visible in photos). <br /><br />- There is filtered water in the kitchen so no need to buy bottled water. Yay!<br /><br />- There is a toaster oven, Instapot, microwave oven, rice cooker, blender, coffee maker, electric kettle, egg cooker (scrambled, soft and hard boiled) and a refrigerator and freezer. <br />- Long term stays 7 nights or more (only) use of separate washer. <br /><br /> - PLEASE NOTE: It has a kitchenette NOT a KITCHEN, meaning <br /> ** NO OVEN, NO HOT PLATE, NO STOVETOP. Hot plates/ cooking are NOT permitted in the studio due to county permit code. <br /><br />- There are plates, glasses, cutlery, storage bowls, foil, wine opener, & paper towels. <br /><br />- We have always disinfected light switches, door handles and bathroom fixtures. <br /><br /> - PLEASE NOTE: There is NO outside patio nor lanai sitting area at this time. The best sunset views are a 3 min walk to a small, secluded rocky bay (see pics), or 5 min to lively Magic Sands where locals and tourists alike gather. <br /><br />- Pahoehoe beach park is our favorite sunset spot. A 10 min walk (2 min drive, easy parking) and there is shade, grass, yoga classes, and BBQs. Alcoholic beverages are also legally permitted there. <br /><br />- The main part of the house where we stay, is all on the upper level. We are quiet and often on-site and available - but there are no other travelers staying on the property or sharing walls. We also respect your privacy.<br /><br />- You may hear the occasional footstep and voices from above but we have no children, enjoy our quiet surroundings. In the evening we do not use that area of the house that directly above your unit's bedroom/living room. <br /><br />- Sometimes you may hear the cats running but that is infrequent and they are mostly outdoors. <br /><br />- Your unit does not share any walls with our living area.<br /><br />- Besides air conditioning we provide a fan and there is a ceiling fan. The unit stays cool all day. <br /><br />- TV is 43" and is a smart TV so you can access Netflix, Hulu, Amazon etc. <br /><br />- No smoking anywhere on the property, not even where the cars are parked. We prefer smokers do not stay here. <br /><br />- We understand some people are sensitive to strong perfumes in washing products so we use and environmentally-friendly detergent and cleaners when possible. <br /><br />- Also shampoo, conditioner and body wash are in a shower dispenser and we use paraben-free and phthalate-free products. We opt for as natural as often as possible and what I use personally. <br /><br />- All comforters, linens and small floor mats are also washed after each check out. (Many Airbnb hosts do not wash the comforters ). <br /><br />- There is a *STRICT* NO-children policy under 12! Also please let us know if you are traveling with a minor at the time of booking. *All minors must be accompanied by an adult while at the studio.* We prefer guests 18 and older.<br /><br />- SCUBA DIVERS! Let us know if you are bringing gear and we will provide a rack and hangers for gear. Also we will provide you with FREE use of our weights! We do not offer early check in or luggage drop off. If the studio is available earlier we will text you and let you know! <br /><br />3. Agree to have your government ID and photo uploaded to Airbnb.<br /><br />4. We want to know a little bit about you so please make sure you have some information about your self on your profile.<br /><br />5. Agree that usage of all snorkeling and boogey boarding equipment is at your own risks and we assume no liability. Please know your own limits <br /><br />6. Agree not to cook in the unit using a hot plate or with any other devices not already in the unit. Also no candle burning. <br /><br />5. Absolutely NO UNAUTHORIZED guests. Please let us know if you will have a friend visiting. We do not allow for more than 2 guests to stay in our unit. No exceptions. Stays 7 nights or longer will be charged an additional $35 cleaning fee if the place is left messy. <br /><br />***********************************************<br /><br /><b>Guest access</b><br />Guest have their own private studio accessible from a private door on the ground floor. Guest parking is in on the street directly in front of the house. Parking is always free, easy and available.<br /><br />You will need a car to fully take advantage of what the Big Island has to offer. <br /><br />Our home is located in a very safe, residential neighborhood and the neighbors are all very quiet. We love our street and there is always residents and tourists walking to the beach, exercising or walking their dogs. We feel our street is alive but very quiet. There are several other Airbnbs nearby.<br /><br />Our neighborhood is quiet and asleep by 9 pm, so we ask our guests to be please be respectful of the quiet nature of the area! <br /><br />We have an Orchid Tree in front of our property which covers the front with light-purple scented flowers. The entire street is lined with old trees so a walk down to the beach is under a canopy of trees lined by older beach houses, all completely unique and different from each other. <br /><br />Best of all it is just a 3 min walk to a very small private beach and a 5 min walk to Magic Sands Beach.<br /><br />There is a hourly, credit-card bicycle rental kiosk across from Magic Sands (5 minute walk) if you want to ride along the beach road.<br /><br /><b>Other things to note</b><br />We are excited as an ocean front restaurant opened at our local beach. It is only a 5 min walk away to Magic's Beach Grill. (no need to hassle with parking or Uber). There is also light breakfast, lunch menu, dinner and bar! <br /><br />Kahalu’u Beach is about a 5 minute drive (and 13 min walk) and is great for surfing and beginner snorkeling. There are also surf and SUP classes at Kahalu’u Beach. <br /><br />A 5 minute drive south takes you to a nice shopping center with a full grocery store, restaurants, post office, drug store and a few bars and restaurants. <br /><br />A 10 minute drive on the beach road Ali’I Drive takes you to the seaside town of Kona where there are more restaurants, shopping, bars, live music, a. mix of locals and tourists. And Open! <br /><br />Also there are a few Farmers Markets nearby.<br /><br />Please note there are wild birds, and other wildlife including lizards, geckos, frogs and tropical bugs outside. We try to avoid chemicals so do not have the house sprayed.
