Experience the beauty, serenity, and wonder of living near an active volcano!<br /><br /><b>The space</b><br />Registered hosted home in Hawaii <br /><br />House of Volcano Hawaii Breeze is located in the Ohia Estate community, very safe with paved roads, right by the Volcano National Park, about 4 miles, 5 mins driving. 2 blocks from the main road, so it escapes from main road noises. <br /><br />A great location to visit the world famous Volcano park or a stop point when you are on a road trip. We are in the middle where you can reach Hilo or south black sand beach in 30 mins either direction.<br /><br />The house has a private entrance (with a gate), very private and green. Free parking. Raised up one floor home which is very unique architect in Hawaii. Homes built in 20s are often elevated to ward off pests and can also take advantage of natural cross-breezes to stay cool and comfortable in the hottest months.<br /><br />Big island in general is more rural than other islands and overall supply is limited. Volcano is not a big city and it is very quiet and peaceful. This is a local home and not a resort or hotel. Catchment system for water is very common on the island. It is filtered for drinking. It feels "off the grid" but better because we have hot water and shower, city electricity supply to support home power and gas. If you are from a city, the environment may feel different for you. We are proud that you choose to live like a local and experience true Hawaii island life for a few days while visiting :) This is also what we love and why we own this home in Volcano on the east side of the island. We believe that Hilo side is very local and filled with local spirits and local flavors and visitors can explore the local beach, Volcano, hiking and many farmers markets. It has true Hawaii tropical vibe!<br /><br />Some other houses and rentals on the island are more "off the grid", no hot shower, or only outdoor shower, solar power with no public electricity or gas. Many of those properties are on unpaved road and even less developed. Not super safe in my opinion to stay/live except locals, especially if you travel with kids.<br /><br />Volcano has a few good neighborhoods including the volcano village, mauna loa estate and us (Ohia). Rest is further down the road and more rural. The house is 5 mins to the park, 30 mins to Hilo, 20 mins to Keeau (developing town). We often get our supply in Walmart, Target, Long Drugs or local markets. We like to play local beach in Hilo (very local, safe and beautiful) and south Punalu'u black sand (also 30 mins) where spot turtles are very likely. <br /><br />3 bedroom (2 bedrooms + private den with sliding doors), 2 full bathroom home is perfect up to 6 guests. Great for family with kids too. Full kitchen that guests can cook. Nights are cooler, we have heaters. Day time is perfect at 70-75s. no AC is required because we are way cooler than beach level :) <br /><br />We love our lanai (covered deck) because it is raised up for a better view and breeze.
