Begin on your private open-air lanai (porch), complete with a cozy porch swing and an outdoor dining nook - perfect for enjoying peaceful sunrise views. Step inside to your spacious, fully screened lanai, designed with heavy-duty, critter and bug-proof screening so you can relax comfortably in the open air. This serene space features a firm king-size bed and a dedicated dining area, making rainforest naps and leisurely meals in the fresh jungle breeze a true highlight of your stay. <br />We know sleep is of the utmost importance ~ both King Size Beds are quality, firm and have 100% organic cotton sheets. These beds can double as couches during the day, but rest assured these are excellent beds. <br />Inside still feels like outside, with panoramic nature views including a sky/moon light, large ceiling fan, an extra closet for clothes, bathroom, kitchen with breakfast nook and main sleeping area with an additional firm King Size bed & a free standing clothes rack & storage. A large tiled desk area, with highspeed Wi-Fi, makes any last minute work projects easily & peacefully accomplished. <br />Please take note that the Jungle Suite is a roomy open-loft concept without separate bedrooms. Designated sleeping areas are separated for privacy with heavy blackout curtains giving a private feeling to sleeping areas, kitchen, etc. There is a sliding glass door and solid wood door separating inside and outside for additional privacy.<br />This lush tranquil landscape offers its own unique mesmerizing ecosystem. A phenomenal symphony of diverse birdsong engulfs you in the mornings and evenings transitioning to a serenade of coqui frogs, immersing you in this magical rainforest retreat.<br /><br /><b>Guest access</b><br />You will have the entire top-story 'Jungle Suite' to yourselves, featuring a private entrance and a designated parking space inside the main gate. While our family lives on this 3-acre property, the Jungle Suite is our only rental, ensuring you have a quiet and private stay.<br />Guests enjoy a private, fenced-in area on the ground level (perfect for keeping our curious farm birds at bay!). You are also welcome to stroll the first fenced acre to harvest seasonal fruits—feel free to help yourselves or ask us for a hand!<br /><br /><b>Other things to note</b><br />The Neighborhood<br />Napua Gardens is located in Orchidland Estates, one of the Big Island's East side's most pleasant and quiet neighborhoods. A designated parking area is provided for you inside the gate.<br /><br />Driveway Access: Standard cars, SUVs, and most rental vehicles access the property without any issues. Very low-clearance sports cars (such as some Camaro models) may have difficulty at the driveway entrance, so if you're selecting a rental vehicle, we recommend choosing a standard-height car or SUV.<br /><br /><br />Rainforest Life: A phenomenal symphony of diverse birdsong will greet you in the mornings, transitioning to a serenade of coqui frogs at night. You may also be visited by our resident geckos; they are harmless, considered good fortune, and a sign of a healthy ecosystem.<br /><br />Farm Animals: We have three small, friendly dogs who will give you a barking “welcome,” as well as three resident cats (not allowed in the suite) and an array of ducks and chickens.<br /><br />Water System: All house water is rainwater that has been caught, fully filtered and additionally treated with an ultraviolet light system for extra protection. All house water is safe, drinkable & delicious! On rare occasions, we may ask you to be mindful of water use until we receive more rain.<br /><br />Tours: Please inquire if you are interested in add-on guided tours of Napua Garden's botanical treats, the Big Island, or the island of Kauai.<br /><br />Enhanced COVID cleaning and disinfecting procedures for every check-in.<br /><br />Taxes & Permitting: Nightly rentals in Hawaii will reflect state and county taxes.
