











Our beautiful home is nestled into the lush landscape just above the world famous Hapuna Beach. This is the largest white sand beach on the entire big island. Sunset and sunrise are like a dream! There are breath-taking views in every direction, both volcanic mountains and endless ocean. <br />This is an ideal home for a romantic getaway or a family vacation. We have everything you need for days at the beach, meals at home, and pool days right at the house. Native birds visit daily and quickly become familiar companions.The den has a single bed with trundle that pulls out from underneath, which can accommodate 2 more guests comfortably. <br /><br />The kitchen is fully equip with everything you need for home cooked meals, including an outdoor BBQ. The indoor living area is very comfy and filled with art. <br /><br />Our home is filled with the artwork of Cathy Shine who has documented Hawai’i for the past 30 years in black & white sepia photography. It is like being in a museum that showcases the breathtaking beauty of the islands. <br /><br />Enjoy the western facing view with explosive, colorful sunsets over the Pacific Ocean every night. The night sky provides astounding stargazing opportunities. <br /><br />Please note that the Hapuna Prince Hotel and Mauna Kea Hotel no longer offer day use passes. You are welcome to go to either hotel for meals at their restaurants and both beaches have public access. You do not need to be a hotel guest to enjoy the best beaches on the island. However, you cannot use hotel pools or other facilities unless you are a registered guest. We supply ample beach towels and beach gear for you to enjoy the beaches.<br /><br /><b>Guest access</b><br />Guests enter through a 24 hour manned gate at the Hapuna Beach Hotel and an additional electronic gate once you arrive to the house.<br /><br />Inside the gate, the neighborhood has little traffic and 3 mile paved loop that makes for a nice evening or morning walk. <br /><br />Hapuna Beach is walking distance but most guests prefer to drive down. There is a public beach access parking lot just next door to the Westin Hāpuna. You don’t have to leave the resort to access it. Simply drive down about 3 minutes and you’re there. Then the beach is another 5 mins walk.<br /><br />Beach Access<br />Guests enjoy proximity and access to two of Hawai‘i’s most celebrated beaches: Kauna‘oa Bay, Mauna Kea Beach, 20 minute walk or 5-minute drive<br />Hapuna Beach 10-minute walk or 3-minute drive.<br />All beaches in Hawai‘i are public and accessible to all people. Parking availability varies; valet and day passes may be offered.<br /> <br />Dining<br />The Kohala Coast offers a range of dining experiences, from refined farm‑to‑table cuisine in Waimea to relaxed oceanfront options in Kona. A curated list of recommendations is provided in the full handbook.
