It feels like old Hawaii, but with modern comforts like A/C, smart TVs, and fast WiFi (200 Mbps down / 10 Mbps up).<br /><br />A stairway inside connects the upper and lower levels, making it easy to flow between spaces. Enjoy almost 180° ocean views from the upstairs lanai, or head down to the pool directly from the lanai downstairs. Please note: the pool area is not gated, so keep an eye on little ones.<br /><br />We provide beach gear galore—chairs, towels, boogie boards, snorkel sets, and coolers—so you’re set for adventure. And when you’re done, come back and pick fresh mangoes, avocados, or starfruit right from the yard.<br /><br />This spacious two-story home is perfect for large families or two groups traveling together. With 4 bedrooms (2 upstairs, 2 downstairs) and 3 full bathrooms (2 up, 1 down), everyone has room to unwind. Each bedroom sleeps two, and the comfy sleeper sofa adds space for two more—sleeping up to 10 guests total.<br /><br />The main kitchen upstairs is fully equipped for family-style meals and group gatherings, while the downstairs kitchenette includes a full fridge, hot plates, rice cooker, coffee maker, and all the essentials for independent living. You can easily gather for sunsets on the lanai—or enjoy separate space and privacy, especially if traveling as two families. We’re in a peaceful, friendly neighborhood known locally as "Upper Lako"—quiet, breezy, and just 5 minutes to downtown Kona, 15 minutes to the airport.<br /><br />Need anything? Just ask. We love helping guests find the right beach, the best poke spot, or a quiet coffee farm with a view. This isn’t a postcard—it’s your Hawaiian home.<br /><br />Other Things to Note<br />---Security cameras are located only in outdoor common areas and include noise detection—there are no cameras inside the home. They’re in place for the safety of all guests.<br />---Landscaping and pool service may take place during your stay. These professionals are respectful and will not disturb your visit.<br />---Natural sounds like coqui frogs and chirping geckos are part of our tropical paradise. They can be loud at night, so light sleepers may want to bring earplugs.<br />---Tropical life is part of the experience here on the Big Island. While our home is well-maintained, you may encounter geckos, mosquitos, sugar ants, carpenter bees, scorpions, or cockroaches. It’s all part of staying in a lush, natural setting.<br />---Per Hawaii law, there is an on-site host who lives in a separate, private area with no shared spaces. He’s a friendly local boat captain, and if you see him (which is rare), feel free to ask for local tips!<br />---The lanai downstairs leads to the pool, and there is a fence to help keep little ones safe, but please always keep a watchful eye near the pool area.<br />---This home is in the quiet, desirable Upper Lako Street neighborhood—a peaceful community ideal for relaxation, not parties.<br />---No unregistered guests are allowed unless approved at least 24 hours in advance (by name and license plate).<br />---Zero party policy is strictly enforced to respect our neighbors and preserve the tranquil setting.<br /><br /><b>Guest access</b><br />You’ll receive your personalized door codes on the day of check-in—no keys to worry about. You'll have full, private access to the entire home, including both upstairs and downstairs levels, the pool, and the BBQ grill on the lanai. Two dedicated covered parking spots are located just steps from your front door for ultimate convenience.<br /><br />Everything on the property is yours to enjoy. The only shared element is in line with Hawai‘i law: there is an on-site host who lives quietly in the ohana unit below. You likely won’t see him—unless you want insider tips from a real local fish boat captain!<br /><br /><b>Other things to note</b><br />Our home is located in Upper Lako Street, one of Kona’s most peaceful and upscale neighborhoods—ideal for families and guests looking to unwind. This isn’t a party house; it’s a place to listen to the coqui frogs, watch the sunset from the lanai, and grill by the pool.<br /><br />To help maintain the peaceful atmosphere, no unregistered guests are allowed on the property. All guests must be named, confirmed, and approved at least 24 hours in advance.<br /><br />For everyone’s safety and peace of mind, we have a Ring camera at the entry to monitor the space.
