I completely loved my stay with Kurt and bis family! The room was delightful, clean, and spacious. The sunset view from the wrap-around porch was stunning. I felt so pleasantly nurtured by the fresh fruit and coffee breakfast grown right their farm.<br /><br /><b>The space</b><br />A very nice bedroom with private bath in a very nice house in a very nice part of the Big Island. Stay on a small coffee/macadamia nut plantation. Enjoy your stay in Kona without breaking the bank. Price includes a big breakfast, use of snorkel equipment, wifi throughout the house. Truly magnificent ocean views of Kealakekua Bay.<br /><br />The room has a double bed and a twin bed. There's a nice view out the large window of the garden and orchard, and a wonderful skylight tor enjoying the stars at night. We have a table set up on the lanai to take in magnificent ocean sunsets. <br /><br />A great location for exploring the Big Island. Nearby you will find some of Hawaii's best ocean activities, nature hikes, and archeological sites (The Place of Refuge National Park is a ten minute drive). This is rural Hawaii at its finest, yet there are several fine (and reasonable) restaurants and a supermarket five minutes drive away.<br /><br /><b>Guest access</b><br />Complimentary beach and snorkel equipment, beach towels, hair dryers, refrigerator, microwave. Guests are welcome to congregate any place in the house, including a magnificent balcony that looks out over the ocean. . It's a great place to watch the sun go down. There's also a table in the garden area in front of the house for guests.<br /><br /><b>During your stay</b><br />On check in we give the guests a brief tour of what's available for them. The host almost always joins the guests after breakfast and over a cup of coffee he will make suggestions about things to see and do that may not be in "normal" guide books. Our aim is that you will have a truly exceptional experience on the Big Island and we do our part to help make that happen.<br /><br />Guests that wish may join the host, schedule permitting, for a tour of coffee, macadamia and various tropical plants. Learn about the uses of some of these plants by the ancient Hawaiians on your tour led by Dr. Weigelt.<br /><br /><b>Other things to note</b><br />Hawaii State taxes applied to your accommodation are 14.94%. While we wish we didn't have to charge this extra fee--we are required by the state to collect it for them. This is the only additional fee paid to the hosts after check in. There are no "single-night stay fees", no parking fees, no other fees of any kind.<br /><br />Please note that one night reservations for this room depend on existing scheduling.
