Awarded Hawaii’s most hospitable host for the entire state of Hawai’i, Gigi’s Volcano Cottage is nestled sweetly in the peaceful tropical rainforest at the top of Kilauea Volcano on the Big Island of Hawai’i, just 1 mile from Volcanoes National Park. Ideal for park visitors, island explorers or outer island retreats. Relax to the sound of beautiful birds, wind in the trees and gentle rain showers on the roof. All the amenities you need for a comfortable and cozy visit.

The space
Gigi’s Volcano Cottage is a cute and cozy cottage nestled into a quiet and peaceful private road, tucked away in a tropical paradise, surrounded by the gorgeous Volcano rainforest. (Light sleepers be aware the island has nocturnal coqui frogs that “sing” at night.)
A non-smoking pet-free environment with a private driveway and private entrance, you can come and go at your convenience. The cozy cottage is complete with a queen bed, plenty of pillows to choose from, extra blankets, 2 person dining table, desk, hi speed internet, HD smart tv, full size washer and dryer, fridge and freezer, ice maker, coffee maker, Keurig, double burner hot plate, toaster oven, full bathroom with tub and shower, space heater, black out curtains and a gas grill. Kitchen also comes with plenty of coffee, tea, cocoa and even condiments and seasonings. It’s just such a sweet little spot. Very peaceful, comfortable, and oh so cozy .

Inside or outside Volcanoes National Park there is so much to do and see and experience. Our little village is the perfect spot to just chill. Much cooler than down at sea level and way less humidity, we have a sweet little hidden rainforest retreat. Hidden just perfectly between the green and black sand beaches, the eclectic Pahoa and old skool Hawai'i in Hilo town, you have the perfect hidden retreat.

Come and experience it for yourself. There is nowhere else in the world quite like it.

Guest access
Private driveway and parking spot for guests. Cottage is accessible via a private key coded entrance. Guests can come and go as they please.

Other things to note
If you have fragrance sensitivities, please let us know in advance of booking.

Also be aware the Big Island has nocturnal coqui frogs. If you are a light sleeper be aware as they are around the entire island. We recommend white noise or ear plugs if necessary. Most people love them as they sound like birds but extremely sensitive sleepers should be aware.

We also recommend bringing rain gear, long pants, an umbrella and some good footwear. Volcano gets over 120 inches of rain a year and temperatures in winter can dip down to the 50’s at night. The daytime temperatures remain pretty consistent in the 60’s and 70’s. It’s absolutely perfect!

Before leaving the cottage, we do ask that you turn off all lights (other than porch light) and appliances including heater and dehumidifier etc. If it is sunny out you may want to leave the windows open for some fresh air.

There are some small convenience stores in the village, but you will want to pick up some groceries and essentials in either Hilo or Kona before you arrive. Options are very limited as Volcano is a small, rural village.

The host is also a professional photographer and licensed wedding officiant. Please let us know if you are interested in package pricing for any of these services. I love vow renewals, elopements and destination weddings. And a fun honeymoon photoshoot is always welcome! I LOVE love!!!

Registration Details
GE-089-237-7600-01 TA-089-237-7600-01
