Parking on the street is prohibited at all times due to county regulations for short term rentals, so please do NOT bring more than 4 cars and please do NOT bring any trailer, RV or boat, as there is no place to park them.<br /><br />WINTER SEASON PARKING<br />During the winter months, we highly recommend you only bring two cars and park inside the garage. Parking on the steep driveway during the winter is not recommended because 1) it interferes with snow removal and the snow removal company wouldn't be able to plow the driveway with their machine, 2) it's likely that the car could slide down the driveway as it's steep and the snow/ice provides little traction. If you have to park on the driveway, make sure you park on the bottom of the driveway to avoid the risk of sliding. <br /><br />With the driveway being steep, a 4WD/AWD vehicle or chains/snow tires are required in worst winter conditions to be able to drive up the driveway into the garage.<br /><br />ELECTRIC BEAR FENCE<br />Lake Tahoe is bear country, and we've seen an increasing number of bear break-ins in Lake Tahoe in the recent years. Thus we have installed an electric bear fence system for your protection and safety. You will see electric wires and bungee cords across the windows and doors, and an electric bear mat next to the front door.<br /><br />The electric bear fence system will be turned OFF before your arrival, so all you need to do is to disconnect the bungee cords across the garage and patio doors if you need to access those places. If you wish to turn on the bear fence during the night (we highly recommend doing so), simply connect the bungee cords again and turn on the system using the switch next to the garage door on the exterior wall of the house. There is also an indicator light next to the switch that shows the on/off status of the bear fence. The front door bear mat is always safe for humans to walk over it with shoes, even if the bear fence system is on.<br /><br />WILDLIFE SAFETY<br />We are lucky to be located in the national forest, but this also means there are a lot of wildlife animals present in the neighborhood. Wildlife animals you may see on the property include, but are not limited to: bears, coyotes, squirrels, wolves, mountain lions, bobcats, etc. To prevent wildlife break-ins, please close and lock all doors/windows of the house and your cars at all times, and park your cars inside the garage whenever possible. Do NOT leave any food outdoors or in your cars, and please keep a safe distance from all wildlife animals.<br /><br />CANCELLATION AND REFUND<br />We are not responsible for unpredictable and unforeseeable events like road closures, winter storms, wild fires, power outages and WiFi outages. These are out of our control and are not guaranteed.
