This is Kiahuna Plantation Resort; my unit is close to the Outrigger building. It's a 5 min walk to Poipu beach.<br /><br />Poipu beach is famous for resting turtles and sometimes, Hawaiian monk seals.<br /><br />Welcome to my condo in the beautiful garden island of Kauai; part of the exquisitely maintained Kiahuna Plantation Resort. You can partly see the ocean (at a distance) from my ground floor unit and see if they is a surf and there are surfers, if you are into surfing. My place is a 5 minute walk to Poipu beach on the South Shore of Kauai near the historic Koloa town.<br /><br />Kauai is hikers' and surfers' paradise. I provide recommendations as a host on reservation. If you have never been here before, the recommendations should help. South Shore particularly is drier than the north and Poipu beach specifically is a great spot for families, swimming and surfers. The water is blue and warm, the sunsets are beautiful, and it's a good spot for surfers. Please keep the screen door shut at all times, no food out, and the trash can out in the balcony.<br /><br />BEACH<br /><br />This is a 5 minute walk to Poipu beach, famous for its calm shallow blue waters ideal for kids and families and for surfing, and resting turtles. You can get a narrow view of the ocean from my unit.<br /><br />THE UNIT<br /><br />This ground floor 1 bed 1 bath 640 sqft condo is perfect for a couple or small family. There is a light sofa bed that opens up into a twin/ full bed.<br /><br />- Please note that there is one flight of stairs (~10) from the street level to my unit but nobody can get to my lanai from outside. Unfortunately, there isn't an elevator or ramp. My condo is not wheelchair-accessible.<br /><br />- The balcony offers a narrow distant view of the ocean. I have beach accessories for guests (long Costco surfboard, beach chairs, beach umbrella, boogie boards, cooler).<br /><br />- I will get split A/C installed by summer; portable A/C until then.<br /><br />- There is NO washer-dryer in the unit but there are coin-operated washers and dryers in the complex (for a price).<br /><br />- The kitchen has pots and pans, basic amenities, oil and basic spices, local coffee, a fridge, microwave, dishwasher, oven, Instant Pot, Ninja coffee machine and Ninja blender.<br /><br />- The bathroom, though small, has high-quality body wash, shampoo, conditioner, towels, toothpaste etc.<br />- The bedroom has a king bed, a closet, wardrobe, iron.<br /><br />- The living room has a three-seater sofa bed, big smart TV, live plants, guitar, telescope.<br /><br />- The dining nook has a dining table and four chairs. Bar area.<br /><br />BUILDING & NEIGHBORHOOD<br /><br />The building has security; there are no cameras or recording devices in the unit. There are barbecue grills right outside my building.<br /><br />Across the complex is Poipu Athletic Club that you may access for free - the club has a gym, hot tub, tennis courts, swimming pool. You can access the Club by providing your last name as appears in Airbnb, my unit number and saying it's owner-managed. Note that this is off-property.<br /><br />Across from the street is a small shopping center with restaurants.<br /><br />Enjoy the beach right out front when the tide is low, and so much more on this beautiful island.<br /><br />Exact address not disclosed until a few days prior to your stay, for safety and privacy reasons. My building is close to the Outrigger building.<br /><br />Note that Kauai is more expensive than Maui, which is more expensive than mainland US. South Shore tends to be more expensive and this is a resort. The Sheraton next door charges 2-4 times the price. I make my condo available so guests get a "home"-feel.
