











Two-person cabin in a rural rainforest neighborhood 3-acre homestead, off-grid (6,000 watt solar panel system, 4,500 gallon water catchment, propane tanks for hot water), 1G fiber optic wifi in cabin. There is a large communal kitchen cabin (16' x 16') with high-end kitchen appliances (no microwave because it drains solar batteries), a BBQ area, 6-person picnic table, 4 hammocks. The only noise at night are coqui frogs, which are all over this island except for Kona. Owner lives on site.<br /><br /><b>The space</b><br />The cabin has a sleeping area with a queen bed and a spacious bathroom complete with a large shower, vanity, and flushing toilet. The cabin also has a large porch with its own lawn furniture. While the cabin is meant for two people, there is room to accomodate a todder bed (which is available on the premises) or a crib for a single child. The property itself is 3-acres of rainforest trees and plants, along with fruit trees and bananas. All sides of the property are separated from the road by 50 feet of forest, which makes this location quite private. This homestead includes a yurt that sleeps up to 6 people (Rainforest Haven Yurt) for larger groups. The homestead is run by 6,000 watt solar-power and a rain-catchment system with a 4,500 gallon water tank. The owner lives on the premises in their cabin. Blankets and duvets are washed after revery use.<br /><br />Volcano National Park is only 15 minutes away; Punaluʻu black sand beach is 30 minutes; Ka Lae (South Point) is about 1.5 hours; and Hoʻokena Bay is about 2 hours. We are closest to Hilo (45 minutes). Kona is a 2.5 hour drive.<br /><br /><b>Guest access</b><br />The homestead is has large areas of lawn and spacious communal kitchen for guests' use.<br /><br /><b>Other things to note</b><br />The kitchen is well equipped: stove, oven, two refrigerators, knives, cutlery, cutting boards, and kitchen aids (hand mixer, stand mixer, immersion blender, blender, juicer, food processor, coffee machine, coffee bean grinder, rice cooker, etc.). Coffee, tea, spices, and cooking oils are complementary. All duvets and blankets are washed after use and throw pillows undergo either washing or steaming to ensure they are ready for the next guests. There are also beach-related amenities, such as coolers, bodyboards, and floaties. Shampoo, conditioner, and bodywash are also supplied. Please not that this property is a haven for relaxation. Quiet hours are between 8pm and 8 am.
