Jalousie windows, ceiling fans, and famous Hawaiian trade winds keep things cool and breezy.<br /><br /><b>The space</b><br />Thoughtfully furnished with simplicity and comfort in mind — clean lines, sparkling new floors, and everything you need, nothing you don’t. The fully equipped kitchen, in-unit washer/dryer, smart TV, and dedicated workspace with WiFi make it equally perfect for remote workers settling in for a longer stay.<br /><br />Your Beach Life Awaits<br />We’ve stocked masks, fins, snorkels, and boogie boards so you can hit the water the moment you arrive. Hukilau Beach, the Polynesian Cultural Center, local food trucks, and groceries are all 3 minutes away. Pipeline and Sunset Beach are 15 minutes up the road. Haleiwa’s famous surf town is a scenic 35-minute drive.<br /><br />Eco-Conscious by Design<br />This home was built with the land and sea in mind — energy-efficient appliances, solar lighting, native Hawaiian landscaping, and reef-safe sunscreen required (your reefs will thank you). We’re proud to be a sustainable stay on a very special island.<br /><br />A Note on the North Shore<br />This is a quieter, more authentic side of Oahu. Infrastructure here reflects island life — power, water, and internet occasionally yield to weather, nature, and construction. Guests who thrive here come for the rawness and beauty of it all, not despite it. In the event of an outage, your host can help provide some tips and/or refer you to airbnb support. Not surprisingly, we have found the volunteer opportunities that are typically a 2-3 hour commitment to be very rewarding and family friendly (blending giving back and learning about the history and culture). The floors are sparkling brand new.<br /><br />There is no air conditioning in the home and the box/window air conditioner in bedroom #2 has been removed. Jalousie windows, fans, and trade winds do most of the work to help keep the home cool.<br /><br />This is a simple, modest, clean cottage. The occasional gecko and bug may enter the home. To help your stay remain critter free, please keep doors/screen closed and clean counters and floors of all food and crumbs.
