We love sharing our home when we're away. We also love art, music, culture and food. Our home reflects all the comforts you'd expect from home and is a reflection of how we like to live. We have rented our home for many years successfully and hope to attract only the most thoughtful and conscientious guests. It's our home after all! And more than anything, we want you to have a wonderful time here! Please know we have tenants above and below us, so respect is essential.<br /><br /><b>The space</b><br />To note for parents. Our home is not safe or suitable for little ones… you should know it’s set up for adults. ( expensive art down low, knives on a wall mount at waist level, lots of sharp corners, restrictions for noise for our upstairs and downstairs neighbors etc) Our home is a beautiful, 1920's barrel front flat. It has the original oak floors with mahogany trim, coved ceilings, tall gumwood baseboards, and many other period details that make it especially interesting. The living room is awash in windows/light, and the furniture is comfortable but not fussy, and designed with great attention to color and art. The living room opens into a smart, formal dining room with a long table, a piano and velvet chairs. This room opens into a nook we've converted into a workspace with a printer and space for two computers. That nook opens into our kitchen. It has updated appliances and many fancy kitchen tools for even the most discerning home chef. The kitchen opens into the laundry room, with washer/dryer, and a pantry for kitchen equipment and supplies. There are two bathrooms in the hallway. One is a Japanese style bath with a hinoki stool, a cool, deep soaking tub, a stand up shower, toilet with bidet and two small his/her sinks. The second bath has a whole wall of amazing mosaic Heath Tile, a walk in shower and a sink and toilet with bidet. There are two bedrooms, both with Queen European Sleepworks mattresses, that both face the garden. The master is much bigger, with a designer/artistic feel to it. The second bedroom is a former teen bedroom. That bedroom opens onto a lovely deck with a CB2 hanging chair, and that opens into an award winning, terraced garden on three levels with views of the park and sometimes the GG bridge from the top!<br /><br /><b>Guest access</b><br />You will have access to our whole house. The garden is shared with the upstairs and downstairs, but it rarely used. The garage is not accessible for guests except to put recycling in the bin. (the other bins are in the hallway). The outside gate entrance is shared with the flat above, but we have a separate, private door. The neighbors upstairs and downstairs are lovely, quiet and respectful.<br /><br /><b>Other things to note</b><br />Do note, this is a city. Expect to hear people above and below you. Most people don't find this bothersome, but it's not a single family with no shared walls. Also, we keep a no shoes household, which includes you. We provide slippers and you can of course bring your own, but we care about the noise, the dirt and our 100 year old, original floors! There are some parts of our cool bathrooms that are a bit unusual ( like the Japanese soaking tub that has no overflow valve) but we'll happily show you the quirks and hope you love the design as much as we do. Despite being in a city, in a very cool/fun neighborhood, you are likely to sleep in total peace and quiet. There are no trains or buses that run on our block, and the bedrooms face the garden, so you won't hear sirens or city noise generally in bed...which is lovely.<br /><br /><b>Registration Details</b><br />STR-0005428
