Soaring ceilings and sunny skylights welcome you to our family home - a top-floor, 1880’s Victorian townhome in the heart of the Mission. Walk to Dolores Park, famous taquerias, bars, coffee shops, and the best restaurants in the Bay. 3 Bds (1 king, 1 queen), and a 3rd flex room (queen bd, formal dining, or co-working space) comfortably sleeps up to 6. Private office and open concept kitchen/living makes entertaining a dream. This home seamlessly blends modern conveniences with historic charm.

The space
Our historic Victorian home is located on a quiet street in the center of the Mission and has been recently remodeled to create a space that is full of light and thoughtful details. It is so rare to find homes in the city built before the 1906 earthquake and fire, with only 5% of buildings surviving, which makes this property that much more special. Even though this home retains its quintessential Victorian features, such as a fainting room (a room where women would rest when their corsets became too tight), soaring ceilings, beautiful bay windows, and original wainscoting and trim, the thoughtful remodeling has retained this charm while also enhancing its original beauty through the addition of skylights, juliet balconies, and a more modern and open feel.

The home comfortably sleeps 6 people with 2 dedicated bedrooms (1 king, 1 queen) and a room with a queen sofa bed that can either be used as a bedroom, formal dining room, co-working space, or game room (we have a closet filled to the brim with game options). This is our family home with everything equipped to our own personal standards and the kitchen fully outfitted for use and entertaining. Each bedroom is extremely comfortable with top-of-the-line mattresses and bedding, Sonos sound system connected throughout, and Frame TV in the living room.

The kitchen is equipped with a Bonavita coffee maker, Baratza coffee grinder, Thermador stove, Shun Japanese knife set, Lodge cast iron pans, a dutch oven, and anything else you might need. It is outfitted with all of the ingredients necessary to cook on a regular basis (we love to cook), and you are welcome to anything in the well-stocked pantry.

The private office (formerly the fainting room!) is set up with a dedicated monitor and high-speed internet for you to be productive, even as you stare out the bay windows at Sutro Tower in the distance.

We love to travel and have lived all over the world, so you’ll find artwork and photography that we’ve collected or taken ourselves displayed throughout the home - African safari photos above the king bed, Aboriginal artwork from the Northern Territory in the kitchen, oil-on-canvas of Balinese markets in the entryway, and original mosaics and paintings inspired specifically by this house.

Though I could go on about the inside of the house, what’s just beyond the doorstep is just as special. You will be footsteps from some of the best restaurants and bars in the country (two-Michelin-starred Lazy Bear is less than a block away). If you prefer a picnic, Dolores Park, one of the warmest and most popular parks in the city, is a ten minute walk. You’re also conveniently positioned to access the rest of San Francisco, with Bart only a few blocks away, and SFO just a short 20-minute drive. We also work in the wine industry, so can provide recommendations for trips to Napa and Sonoma upon request - as well as any restaurant recommendation you could possibly want. Believe me when I tell you that we could fill your entire day with food and drink destinations!

San Francisco may be known for its fog, but our location in the Mission is a special microclimate that is protected by Twin Peaks, resulting in by far the sunniest and warmest neighborhood in the city. You can actually stand on the street in front of the house in the afternoon and see walls of fog blanketing the streets to the north and south of you - such a crazy sight!

The bottom line is that San Francisco is a truly magical city, and the Mission is its heartbeat. We invite you to stay in the center of it all while you explore everything this beautiful city has to offer.

Guest access
You and your guests will have sole access to three bedrooms, a full bathroom with rain shower, a private office, and a large open floor-plan kitchen with breakfast nook, living room, and washer / dryer. There are host quarters in the back of the property but the main home is fully separate for guests and all entrances are private.

Registration Details
2023-010541STR
